Sept-nov No Buy Challenge

I just found out that the seller that I bought my Nioxin scalp renew treatment is sending expired products. My scalp didn't tingle today like it did the first time. I'm mad I used my #haulpass on it.

I learned my lesson. From now on I'll buy Nioxin from the salon only :(

So... I'm going to have to buy new conditioners next month. I'm all out. I tried my last two conditioners (Eva NYC and L'Oreal Power Moisture) with this Mizani Botanifying Shampoo and they both made my hair stiff. This didn't happen with the chelating shampoos I used - they were both pretty good with those. The trouble is that this shampoo is a lot less harsh on my hair than using a chelating shampoo all the time so I guess I'll just have to give up the cheaper conditioners. It's so weird how this shampoo makes my hair feel better and is less harsh but doesn't play well with the conditioners... I had some Nuance Nourishing conditioner left so it kind of "saved the day" and it's more expensive than the other two so maybe I really can't use those cheaper ones with this...

@CodeRed, Aussie Moist 3 minute miracle is a great cheapie super moisturizing conditioner. You can get a 3 pack from Sam's Club for under $10.

You need to return and repurchase. Wait, you got the refund right?

I'm really grateful for this challenge/thread. It is REALLY helping me spend less. As in waaaaaaaaay less. There are SO many purchases I would have made by now had I not been in this challenge. I've had to keep my goals in front of me and remember to USE. MY. STASH.

Mini haul complete. Bought:

- Nairobi Detoxifying Shampoo

- Nairobi Exquisite Hydrating Detangling Shampoo

- Rusk Calm Sensories Conditioner

- ISO Hydra Conditioner

- Conair Infiniti Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Styler

I won't need anything until next year because I want a liter of an AG conditioner when Ulta has their sale. The combination of things I have now should hold me over and that AG conditioner is the only thing I have left on my wish list.

I'm close to pushing "Pay now" at the andalou site. All natural products. 30% off promo code. Products I'm looking at are high in argan oil. Products have protein!!! Styler is a creme with hold that gets gooooooood reviews (even from type 4 hair -having folks).

Hubby will not be happy.

Let me see if waiting an hour will change things.

I keep reading the reviews! One lady says that since she doesn't use 'cones, then this line works well for her. I think I'm toast! LOL!

ETA: Correction -- She says it's a BRILLIANT line if you don't want 'cones . . . almost too moisturizing for her fine, dense hair. Aaaaaaagggggghhhhh!

Some of us are on a break. You over there playing, not letting your inner pj be great.

Ladies, I used my pass to get:

APB Conditioners
SSI Butters since I was out of them
Soultanicals Fall Hair Bundle
Bask & Bloom Hair Bundle

I think I'm set for another month. I do need Jakeala products which I want to try out but not until BF.

I was at the grocery store (Giant) and went to the hair care isle to pick up some cheapie Vo5 shampoo. (I use this to hand wash my silk scarves and pillow cases) I scrolled on down to the end of the isle and saw some extra dark Jamaican black castor oil...the pure stuff without other oils added for $5.99. I picked up a bottle for my ends since my pomade will be done tomorrow after wash day. I also plan on adding an ounce to my body oil mix.

They have it at TJ Maxx now too for the same price... It's not the big bottles but I can't remember how many ounces they are...

Y'all I am so proud of myself I did not buy any hair products for a whole month! If it wasn't for the hair expo next week I could keep going on my streak but the deals are too good to pass up. I will give myself a budget too so I don't end up with too much stuff. Plus I got most of my big ticket items already although I need a thinner flat iron.

This year is going by way too fast. Halloween is around the corner. Then Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ya know what that means? Sales, sales and more sales. I don't mind saving money... I have to strategically plan my next haul pass so that I get the most bang for my buck!

This is a picture of every product of mine in the house, purchased over 3 years, except for 14 products in my shower.

This is before I have organized them. And I have 2 products that I can't let be photographed. I wasn't supposed to purchase them, they were expensive, and they are hidden. So sad.
