I’m doing great. I haven’t spent any money on Amazon this week. Looking at my account I see that if I stop the mindless spending, I’ll be able to save some money each paycheck.

going on an Amazon hiatus. I gave enough hair products and oil to last me a while.

I am still decluttering my books. Decided to only keep my faves and donate the rest.

I'm committed to working my way through my modified version of the 100 envelope challenge. my goal is to put $100 in each envelope and save 10k.

I have also just finished my first mini savings challenge! It's a small amount but it's something..

I'm loving the cash stuffing method! and the mini challenges are fun. I wanna see how much I can save in a year

I had a pretty good week. I only spent money on food and necessities. How was your week?

I bought my students some Valentine cards with rocks. They will love that.

had a good week as well. I came under budget for groceries and managed to get a discount on my silk press this past friday. The original price was $60 but it came out to be $35 since she's got a discount going all month long for january.

I forgot how much I love going to the salon. I actually go back next tuesday for a steam treatment and silk press. I'll ask her what kind of updos she does.

she has her own hair care line as well

I was this close to falling for a crypto scam. That would’ve been money just gone. Thank God for the video that played right before I hit “start”. It was a warning video. For the last 2 weeks I’ve been looking forward to testing out an AI trading bot. Now I’m just going to do my own trades.

My light bill went down a lot. I payed less than half of what I usually pay. I’ve been making small investments as I learn how to day trade and do limit orders for crypto.

I’ll be able to save that emergency fund quickly once I learn how to consistently make winning trades.

finally got myself a high yield savings account! made just a couple buckets on ally to get things started: rainy day fund; hawaii; nursing school; first car.

can't wait to start saving even more money.

I'm still going strong with cash stuffing. It really does help me to see where I'm overspending and where I should cut back.

right now, my main focus areas are: passing spring semester and finishing my swim lessons in late feb.

I love cash stuffing. I'm still working my way through the 100 envelope challenge. Will hopefully be done by December 2026

Those high yield accounts are so nice. I’ve had mine for a few months. Seeing the monthly interest payment motivates me to save more.

Unless it’s a necessity. I can’t buy anything else either.

I discovered 2 issues: I have too many skincare products, hair care products to choose from that some have expired.

Second issue: I restocked on items not realizing I still had lots of products tucked away in the linen closet. Out of sight, out of mind.

My objective is to reduce my options and use up what I have.

it was a must for me to get these satin flexi rods. I bought 2 packs and it'll get delivered Friday.

Right now I'm rolling my hair up but the flexi rods will be easier for me to sleep on.

I put a little apricot oil in my hair once a week and tie it up with my satin scarf.

Happy New Year everyone! I’m back with another No Buy Challenge.

Rules:
1. No unnecessary purchases. (This includes hair products, skincare products, clothes, shoes, random items, uber eats, etc.)
2. The objective is to break the habit of buying things you don’t need.
3. Create one new healthy money habit. For example, last year I set up a recurring investment purchase. Every check I buy so much of this asset.
4. Have fun! Be creative.
5. Check in as often as you like.

If there is a specific money goal that you have for 2025, post it here for inspiration. Let’s save some coins!

Challengers:
Prettymetty
IdareT’shair
CoiledOrchids
B_Phlyy
Count me in!

I’m really doing well with this no buy. I have been buying assets. Aggressively. My extra coins are getting invested. Within a year, my assets will be able to cover my expenses. Then I can relax.

Whew chile the way these auto pay bills eat my check…

I was on Amazon today just looking at some pens I’ve been wanting since last year. I can’t but the cool pens until I save $500 this month.

not buying anything. I'll be doing updos and twists soon after my trim in March.

I'm getting my hair done tomorrow instead of Saturday. So excited!

school has been keeping me busy.I don't have time for much else
I can relate. School is eating up my time. I’m in bed by 9 due to being mentally exhausted. This has been a fulfilling journey though. I’m looking forward to where it takes me.

I ended up getting some Bobby pins but at the very least I got them at a black owned beauty supply. They had a massive collection but even so I didn’t have that candy in a kids store feeling anymore. I can’t bring myself to getting anything new until my stash is reduced. I need a new Washer and dryer this year. I can’t stand going to the laundromat!

Hey yall. I’m being strong. And thrifty. I did drop $150 on a Botox treatment and blowout yesterday. I hadn’t had my hair done in over a month. I feel like I deserve it!

On another note, my hair is growing dangerously fast. My bangs from 4 months ago are now past my chin. I’m not even using a growth aid. I just see my Dominican lady every few weeks and keep up with my lunar trims. Consistency and low maintenance must be the cheat code to hair growth.
