Porosity Control Challenge!

I just got my PC in the mail yesterday. On my wash day I'll be clarifying with baking soda, I'll DC mith Methi Sativa and use PC as my final step. I'll post the results then

DC'd on dry hair with ORS Replenishing con (mixed with coconut and peppermint oils) for 1 hour. Applied roux porosity control after rinsing out DC... cowashed with Aussie Moist.

I was walking through the hair store today and came across the porosity control for $1 in the little packs. I picked up two of them. I'm using one right now. So far sooo good! My ahir feels wonderful! But it's still wet :ohwell:

I really want in on this challenge!
-Which will you be using, PC or ACV? ACV
-How often will you be using PC/ACV? once a week
-How will you be using PC/ACV?After my DC, as a final rinse
I've been doing this for the past 3 weeks and my hair has never been so soft and moisturized, and I dont feel the need to DC 2x a week anymore!

Used pc as a final rinse on Monday. I freak out everytime I use this stuff because my hair feels stringy in the shower but when it dries....Oh MY! Moisterizers that I thought were crap working now and my hair stays soft! Will use it again tonite when I do my protein dc.

Did an ACV rinse yesterday before DCing. I don't know if I can tell a difference but I hope its doing it the job and closing the cuticle.

I have Braggs ACV with the "Mother". What is the "Mother"? Is it that stuff on the bottom of the jar?

I use PC before a DC and I think it works great.... same way as some ladies say their hair seems to absorb moisture after using PC, my hair seems to get better results from my DC after I use PC....
I am not too keen on using it every week though, maybe once a month... even longer sometimes.

Does anyone use it BEFORE a DC instead of after? Do you feel a difference?

yeah mine has that stringy looking stuff in it too...i just shake it up, cuz I've heard its good for u, enzymes and vitamins and whatnot.

Just finished shampooing with Giovonni 50/50 shampoo and conditioner. Sitting here with my plastic cap on getting ready to dc with heat. After that dc you all know that I will be using pc to make sure my hair is not hard, and crunchy, but smooth and silky! Especially on my 3 inches of NG that have not had direct heat on them since January!!!

Still using ACV. I have to admit - every time I use it I am not crazy about the way my hair feels after I rinse it. BUT is so smooth and soft after drying. Normally I have to sit under my hood dryer to get this type of shine and such. My hair is getting smoother and smoother with each treatment.

:look: :look: :look: Oh yeah . . . I ordered some RPC for June.

I am so headed for PJ hell. :yep:

I did a final PC rinse tonight after my DC. I don't think my hair liked it. My hair felt harder than usual before I dried it.

Next week I'm going to go back to mixing PC in my DC.

Checking in. DC'd with Mizani Moisturefuze conditioner and olive oil with a cap and heat for 50 mins. Followed with a quick dose of porosity control. Following that up with Roux Fermodyl 619.

My PC is here. I think it's been here since Wed or Thurs. I've just been too lazy to go over to the office to get it.

I'm DCing now and will do my PC rinse after. I didnt like how my hair felt after I rinsed it last week but once it dried I could tell my hair felt more moisturized throughout the week than usual.

i used PC on Thursday when i shampooed and DCed my hair. I wore my hair to work in a wet bun on friday. my hair was slightly less frizzy than usual. today, i did a cowash and applied PC afterwards. i was able to lightly detangle my hair in the shower without too much trouble.

i also saw less of a halo of frizz when my hair was wet. but my hair still sucks up all that moisture in like 2 seconds and dries as i roller set. always have to re-wet.

i'll still keep using PC. i think it's doing -something-.

I'm using PC today. I'm doing the PC first this time and then DC'ing. I'm trying to see if it makes a difference. I'm under the dryer now DC'ing, so we'll see.

Ok, I tried the Roux Porosity Control for the first time today, and honestly I'm not all that impressed. I washed with Creme of Nature shampoo (it's in a reddish bottle, it contains sulfates but left my hair feeling soft anyway). I did a protein treatment with Hairveda Methi Tea and used PC as my final step, leaving it in for roughly 5-10 minutes before rinsing it out. I didn't feel a major difference at all :ohwell:. I won't give up though, I'm going to use it a few more times to see if I notice a difference. Did anyone else have to use if a few times before they noticed a difference in their hair?

Ladies Im at my wits end and my eyes are crossing from hours of searching :spinning: apologies if this has been asked before.

My hair is all out of wack and I think I want to use a porosity control conditioner to see if it helps (i will still be using my tgel anti dandruff shampoo to keep my flakes at bay)

So my question is:

1. What pororisty control conditioners would you recommend? I've surmised that Roux Porosity Control Corrector & Conditoner may be good but want to know if there is something better out there.

2. Should I shampoo and do the pc conditioner the week before my phyto texturizer or the week after my texturizer

#2 is really the most important questions. And after reading tons of threads I still cant seem to get an answer because it seems many people use the pc conditioner during their touch up.

Because I am going to an Aveda Salon where they only use their own products - doing a pc during isnt an option

So yeah - before the touch up...or after? Which one is best?

If there is a thread a missed that addresses this feel free to point me in that direction. Im getting really sad about my current setback :cry2:and trying to keep positive by finding some kind of solution getting me hair back in shape.

Thanks in advance!

#2 I always use mine after Deep Conditioning with Heat as a Final Rinse. I've always used the PC in conjunction with another DC Treatment.

The week before and week after my Chemical Service, I always do a Protein Treatment, Followed by a Moisturizing Conditioning Treatment. The PC acts as the Final Rinse after my Deep Conditioner.

I know alot of Ladies Add the PC directly into their Conditioner. I have never done it that way. And I have never used it by itself -- it always follows my DC.

I have gotten the best results by using it weekly as a Final Rinse.

If you've looked at the Roux PC Bottle it says it is a Corrector and a Conditioner to be used before and after a Chemical Service.

You are basically using it to correct & lower the ph balance of your hair. Not sure with the ph level is of your T-Gel 'Poo? Hopefully, you are following that up with something moisturizing.

Yes, their are others with a Acidic low ph balance. Nexxus Ensure with a 3.0 ph level and French Stablizer Plus is about 2.5 ph balance.:yep:

Yes, I used it about a month before I saw a complete difference in the overall health of my Hair.

However, at the time, my hair was Severly, damaged, dry, brittle, overprocessed and over porous. So, I purchased it to correct those issues.

I always use it as a final rinse after my DC Treatments with Heat. I will say, that this product alone with Continued use, as totally turned my Hair around.

I knew I had Overly Porous Hair and it totally corrected that issue. My Hair looks 1,000% Better !:yep:

I am just jumping in to say that I was at my wits end with my hair and the porosity thing was the missing link. I had grown my hair to a nice length (I was between APL and BSL) and all of sudden .....breakage(massive amounts)....tangling(to a level where I was pulling hair out in balls everytime I washed it).....dryness(from my conditioners-even the best ones-not working.

I tried everything, I blamed everything. I even went back to my old stylist....who promptly chopped my hair back to shoulder length (ear length in some places :cry3:). I have not posted regularly since this whole mess started. Well...I am back. The PC and the ACV rinses have stopped the breakage, tangling, dryness ALL OF IT. (Fingers crossed).

I came in here to say....be sure to give porosity issues time to correct themselves with PC or ACV. I tried French Stabilizer in the beginning of the fiasco and when it didnt work INSTANTLY, I assumed it wouldnt.

Hang in there. Porosity is a big thing (Who knew??? :wallbash:)
