Thanks to everyone for the awesome advice & your honest opinions. Today after my teacher finished his lecture, asian girl & I began talking about make up & I started asking her about her hair. The conversation went like this:
SBC: So asian chick, what sort of products do you use in your hair? It's shiny.
AC: Just whatever looks good. Omg you know how they have the black people hair section I went over there & they had all this stuff with only black people on it. I don't get why black people have their own section.
SBC: Hmm, idk. I don't really use "black people" products. So how often do you get trims? It looks like you have some split ends.
AC: Just whenever I feel like going to a stylist. I dyed it awhile back & I've been trying to grow it out. Sometimes I feel so bald headed (she really said bald headed lmao!)
Blah, blah, blah the convo went on from that pretty smoothly until she turned the attention once again to black hair & not her own hair, which was the topic at hand. She asked once again about black hair growth & she stated that she thinks black girls with long hair have weaves & she was saying how she would never want "black people" hair because they can only wash it once a month & how it's dirty, greasy, & ugly. Just a bunch of negative stuff until I was like yeah, yeah asian chick. Anyway, are you still liking your new job? & the topic changed from there. I chose not to clear up her misconceptions & teach her something because I just didn't feel the need to anymore. I didn't approach any of the black girls with tips because, they seem sort of like the ghetto type & I'm not up for all that drama. I just chose to leave the situation alone. No dramatic story for you guys, sorry lol. But once again, I do want to say thanks to everyone that posted, some great advice was given that I & others that may have needed it, can use in all aspects of life. Have a nice friday night & HHG.
