I'm so curious as to how many of you are using MTG in this forum. I'm just curious and I'm sure others would be interested in knowing as well. Any comments on what you think as well. Also, do you use a moisturizer with this product? How are you applying it? How often?
Thanx

The only reason I am not using MTG is because I KNOW I couldn't handle the smell...I can't even handle Glover's Dandruff Control Medicine, which smells like burnt charcoal to me.

ETA: yes, I know there is a floral fragrance available, but I don't bother with it because of the alcohol in it...

MTG is my staple! I don't think I'll ever go without it as long as it exists. I use it with a heating cap or use it overnight. Sometimes I just apply is every 3-5 days. I'm already back to bra strap after a trim that left me at shoulder. With MTG (pre-trim)I made it to 3-4 inches to waistlength in about 3 months after being a bit below BS for so long. I wish I would have taken pictures for proof--but oh well!

I know MTG works for me!!!

This thread wasn't just about MTG, but you can look at the numbers and see how many people were using MTG compared with some other growth products (you could choose more than one option). Out of a hundred and twenty-something people that voted in this thread, about half were using MTG at the time: How Many Topical Growth Potions/Lotions...

I use MTG daily on my hair, not my scalp. I think the smell lingers longer when you use it on yr scalp. Anyhoo, MTG will always be my staple. I'm about to start my original double whammy challenge- Surge W/ MTG. Surge also cuts the Mtg smell along w. mango butter. I don't mix them, I use them separately.Happy growing! :)

You missed a poll option:

"I'd never use MTG because apparently it smells really bad"

- and I'd choose that one.

I don't use MTG either, but I was thinking that if this stuff really works the way everyone says it does, I might try it and use the Surge hair deodorizer to help with the smell.

Has anyone done this successfully?

I tried it but the smell was soooo bad and it just lingered for the longest. IF I decided to give it another try I will only apply once a week. I can't take it more than that.

I applied the MTG, then Sprayed Surge, then applied Mango Butter and Asha's oil spray All at an attempt to get rid of the odor. It drives me crazy.

If anyone has any additional suggestions on masking the smell please share.

I am not sure if I will continue to use or not (even with possible growth potential)

ETA: I also slept with satin cap AND silk scarf on

I've heard of people using aromatherapy oils with it. I mix mine with WGO to mask some of the smell. Why not using it only at night, by the morning the smell should have subsided. That's what I do, and then in the morning I use Surge.

I have a bad case of seborrheic dermatitis and a friend w/ the same problem bought me the product because she claimed that it did wonders for her scalp. I cannot tell about hair growth because I only notice the extremes, but my scalp is in the best condition its been in years. It does smell unpleasant like everyone says, kind of like spoiled salami.....

I have been using it since sometime in Feb. Up until about June I was using almost daily then it got hot and I couldnt take the smell and itching so I cut back to once a week. When I was using everyday or so I was getting like a full inch in 4 weeks. This about double what I normally get. Now that I am only using once a week, Im still getting about an inch in 6 weeks. That is still VERY good growth rate for me. I am also taking Biotin supplements which I think is helping as well. I plan to go back to using MTG about 3 times a week once the weather cools off again.

I agree, I'm using MTG at night about 5x a week, I cant imagine the growth I got in the past 5 weeks now. Now that my ends are kept moist in baggie, I can only expect for even more improvement in hair length.

a lot of ppl here are using it several times a week... isn't that dangerous since it only recommends once a week or something like that?

I'm just asking b/c I know I have seen several mtg users caution that. Just be careful ladies. :(

If you apply MTG to your hair and not your scalp, you won't have too much of a problem with the smell. Since you sleep with 2 hair covers, scarf and cap, you are not letting your hair breathe. I am only telling u what works for me. II hope this helps. Also MNT conditioner is a good smell blocker for MTG. I'm a daily washer and rinser, so the smell doesn't linger with me.

I am using it every other day. The large bottle I got should last me a year. That is an examply of how sparingly I use it.

I find that by mixing applying my moisturisers (Dudley' PCA mixed with Kera Care Essential Oil & Nexxus Botinacal Oils) on top of my hair after applying MTG to my scalp, It does not smell as bad.

I am pleased with my progress and I love the tingling feeling I get. Reminds me that sumthin is going on!

Thanks. But if you'd notice, the MTG users have increased since that "July" poll.:D

Sorry but the poll is stuck....can't change it. I guess you found the wrong thread

Well I asked because I figured inlcuding that in the poll would allow a greater number of people to answer.;)

You originally wanted to know how many users on this forum are using MTG.
Your poll will tell you this. But to get a % of people who are using it you need to include the option of 'no intention to use it'.
