Thanks for the info Diva...never thought of it like that.

Update....I stopped using MTG a month before applying the last relaxer and had no tingling or burning whatsoever. I'm now 99% sure the MTG caused the burning.

I guess I'll participate too. I stopped about 3 days before my relaxer. I was really worried because I read this thread the day before. I made sure to oil my scalp really, really well before the relaxer and I was fine. In fact, no tingling at all and sometimes I do.
Interestingly enough I used a Castor Oil conditioning thing that I had on hand. It's the only thing I own with Mineral or Petroleum oil. I was going to throw it out, but now I wonder. I never use it at any other time than to base my scalp before a relaxer.

Anyway, my hair came out bone straight :ohwell: - as usual...which is something I want to change though. I started MTG about 5 days after my relaxer - not for any other reason than I had a HUGE event and didnt want to smell like bacon.
Less than 2 weeks after my relaxer I can see I already have new growth.
I should take pics. :)

Should I wait a little longer to stop using MTG, since I will be removing braids and then relaxing (5 days later)?
