Do you have a hair strainer for your drain? I use one every time I wash/cowash. I sort of judge the condition of my hair by how much gets caught in the strainer. Of course, the strainer also keeps my drain from getting clogged, too!:)

preciousjewel!! I love your new photo - you guys look great! Your sweetie is handsome! :)

Revisited
  • Jam Gel (WTF was I thinking?)
I strayed away from using my Indian products in an attempt to find more 'conventional' methods, my hair has spoken!! I'm staying with my core products, the tried and true: Ayurveda !! It ROCKS!!:notworthy
My wet hair loves Jam gel! :D
Can you explain the Ayurveda?

HITS
Amla Oil - as a pre-poo is AWESOME. I've been using it for about a month now and my hair gets softer, shinier and richer in color.
Aphogee 2 min reconstructer - Can't say enough about it
I am still a HUGE fan of Queen Helene creme conditioner. It's a staple
Boundless Tresses - Need I say more?!!!!

MISSES
Amla Powder - I just cannot figure out what to do with it and no matter how long I use a deep moisturizing conditioner afterwards, my hair is still dry
NTM Shine Serum - After getting the Ion Silk Shine Serum drops I've found I don't like the NTM (although I adore all the other products in the NTM line). I use it as a heat protectant and the Ion works MUCH better

Maybe you can create your own infused amla oil. I would simmer the amla powder in a pot of olive oil or coconut oil for 10-15 minutes. Then store it in an empty bottle. It will be ready for your next pre-poo. The longer it sits, the stronger it should get.

^ hey moni. has the amla powder made your hair darker? and how are you using the oil as a pre poo? i used it a couple of times and i didnt feel like it was doing much for me. i still have more than half a bottle left sitting in my bathroom.

Does OYIN make anything that isn't off the chain!!

I just received two orders of whipped pudding, my son and I came to an agreement, we each needed our own containers. I ordered the Candy Bar Body Butter...oh my good gosh, gosh darn, goodness gracious...this stuff has me craving candy! It's so smooth and smells INCREDIBLE!!! My son used it and looked at me..."so you only ordered one?"!!

I also ordered the Lip Tint which is redish brownish, very nice color!

I'm in love with Oyin Handmade...I have found my staple line, ordering more stuff, more, MORE MORE!!!

So far I have ordered from them, here's my love rating:

Now there you go!!! Just when AVEDA DR brought my hair PJism to a screeching halt, you wanna go and start the bath and body PJism thing up. The shame of it all........:naughty:

Hit: Just doing it! Like Nike :yay:

I'm terrible at styling hair and this week I was just doing wash and gos, to save myself some time from the wash, DC, moisturize, rollerset, flat iron roots, cry, and try again routine. I sat in bed tonight and was like dangit I'm GON do two french braids tonight. I took some hair and my hands and got to it. And I actually did them:grin: They dont look the best, but hey I can practice. I'm soo happy, if I move up to cornrows its gonna be on and poppin.

These 2 products :

Hits!:D
NTM Hot Oil Treatment! Made my hair nie and soft and I liked the texture of this. I used it as a pre-poo.

Sunsilk TLC creme as a moisturizer on my air-dried hair. This is good on my flat ironed hair, but I found out it is just as good on my airdried hair. It makes my hair feel and smell good. I love this stuff!

I likey, but I probably won't buy again::)
ORS Replenishing Pak. This and CON gren label is a helluva duo. The in shower slip was good, and it made my hair feel nice, but when it was time to comb my hair in small sections (out of the shower) my hair was sort of tangled. It could be because my combing technique in the shower was a little off this week. Also, the slip isn't as good as Motions Moisture Plus and it's more expensive. I have one more pak to try and I will try this the week after next.

Africa's Best Hair Mayo as a pre-poo. My hair felt nice and soft after shampooing. I like this, but after I finish it up I probably won't buy again. I like Hollywood beauty cholesterol and Lekair better than this.

NTM Silk Touch. This is good in all, but it's not as good as Sunsilk TLC creme. I used it as a leave-in on freshly shampooed hair and as a moisturizer on dry hair. It was so so on dry hair but it did make my hair kind of smooth. And it was also kind of soso on wet hait. Good but not spectacular for the price. I'll use it as a moisturizer exclusively this week and we'll see!

MISS: Avocado and olive oil mask that I tried to make. Even added a little honey as a humectant. Hair did not like it.

Hit :
Profectiv Break Free...
So far it's a great moisturizer. I've used another Profectiv product before, I think Long and Healthy... which ever one is pink and it was wayyyyyyy too oily for my hair. My mom has been telling me good things about the Break Free, so I tried hers the other day and much to my chagrin I loved it . Softens my hair and is not greasy at all.
