I'm sitting over here on salt, because I have always looked in your Fotki, but never looked at your journal. All that good help you've been giving and I been missing out on it.

Your hair is sooooo beautiful, and so is your attitude. This is what I needed to kick my butt back in gear. I love it!!! :) I sure hope you dont mind, cause I'm thinking about stealing your co-washing steps.

Let me first tell you, you have made tremendous progress in just 3 mos. Your hair is growing fast.

Also, if you want to avoid thinness, you'll have to trim. I know you dont want to , neither do i, but i'm a little better about it now, because it makes my hair look , thicker, it gives a false look of thickness when i've messed up and thinned the ends.

And, it makes it looks healthier. I've just decided to do everything i can (i'm lazy so thats not to much) to keep losing hair. This contributes to thick ends. Then, I trim every 2-3 month. I dont trim all that should be, just about 1/2 to an inch. Trust me, my ends look THICK even when i havent been taking care of them.

If you don't, it supposedly slows the growth. But, either way, major progress. Keep it goin girl !

Dang I must have just missed the update b/c I have been stalking all day...lol. Great progress. I feel you on the thin ends completely....I've come to the realization that my hair will never look like Lauren450..?? etc ...when your hair is fine you have to hang on to 99% of your ends from the get go.

Kini your hair !!! It's gawwwwwwgeous dear.:) What great progress you've made and what an inspiration to keep us WSL hopefuls on track.:)

Wow, your growth rate is phenomenal. My hair is very similar to yours as well....the longer it gets, the thinner it gets. BJ's Shikakai oil really has helped with that though, but as it grows we will see. Anyway, your hair is lovely, as are you. Keep the inspiration coming girlie!;)

ETA: I love, love, love your makeup tutorial on SummerRain's site! Thanks so much for that....I'm working on it!:)

Awesome Lady! Your hair and album are truly an inspiration.

And I second the Puritan Pride biotin...used it before getting preggars and didn't break me out either...however I did have weird dreams about being pregnant:grin: On second thought you might want to watch out for it. LOL

ITA!!!! It just cant be avoided.

In the past, i used to be very scared of trimming. But now im totally cool with it. I trim with every other Progress Pics, which equals every 6 months. That works pretty well for me..... my hair usually starts to look a tad thinner around the 6-7 month mark (now), and so by 9 months im ready for a trim. I take off about 1/2" which does affect the length some but it does give it a whole fresh, new look. But i believe that trimming it any more frequently would be self-defeating to my progress..... while Im in the grow out phase, that is. Once Ive reached my ULTIMATE goal (Tail Bone length) i'll trim more regularly in order to maintain the pretty, blunt look. But for now my primary concern is avoiding splits (thus, i dust my own split ends weekly) and gaining length. Right now i wear my hair up 85% of the time, so the appearance is less important than its health. And despite the thinning, its still pretty healthy/growing.

I agree!!!! Gotta love that Biotin. :D It did wonders for my hair...... I plan on starting my Biotin up again in about two weeks. Right now my face has cleared up almost completely, so im ready to start back--but this time im going to up my water intake BIG TIME, which is something that i didnt do the first time (despite several warnings from everyone).

Your hair looks great - do u think u will need to trim in October? Maybe go without triming until u get ur goal length.

Hey Kini,my fellow Brooklynite and fine haired sister :)....your hair looks AMAZING! U have definitely been my hair inspiration since joining this board...If it weren't 4 your cowashing regimen, I would not have been able 2 stretch 12wks and make it 1' to APL, trust!

I think your ends will thicken up with time...the hair seems to play catch up with itself...I went thru' the same thing recently...BE ENCOURAGED! You WILL reach waist length (w/ thick ends 2 boast) by 12/07,from my mouth 2 Gods ears,LET'S GET IT! ;)

Sidebar: your jeans are HOT! Remind me of a pair of Seven "A" pockets I have...r they stretch? Yes? No?...either way,HOT! ;)

MAGNIFIQUE, your hair is beautifull and you made an amazing progress since last year.
I have the same fine hair , and I'm still happy to see your progress.
You could be proud of you, you do a great job on your hair

Kini,

Your hair is lovely, girl!!!! Absolutely gorgeous! I'm at work and I normally turn off the Signature/Avatars options. But, when I saw your post I had to turn it back on, I just couldn't wait until after work to see your progress!

Wonderful progress! You are such an inspiration for me, especially since I have fine/thin hair! Your hair is a testament to all that we can grow beautiful, long and healthy hair regardless of hair type and texture!
