first of all i wanna say i applaud you! You have been very good in not begging him to reconsider, calling him nonstop, cursing him out, crying etc you get the picture 
and that TRUST ME is killing him, people HATE being ignored. I know i go NUTS tryina figure out what's up so i say don't even block his number cause if you do, he'll know it (in case he calls) and that lets him know you had some sort of reaction, but for him to know he calls, it rings, you've SEEN the call and IGNORED him, that hurts (his ego) and sucks bad!
