I wish I had her hair!

who cares what people are REALLY thinking...not everyone in this forum are going to oogle and comment on everyones hair...and if the persons hair doesnt appeal then share your opinion with common courtesy or STFU...I just STFU why waste my time typing? Plus Ive seen plenty of members on the board who has nice healthy hair, but I wouldnt want it for myself :nono: and Im pretty damn sure some have seen mines and felt the same way. You cant please everyone. Now it would be a different story if someone gullied up and said what they REALLY thought in the persons progress pics thread  but otherwsie... I dont sweat the small stuff.

Hmm...this is true. But I think what the original poster about this meant (she can correct me if I'm wrong) is that there are people here whose hair is waist length or longer that looks similar to the girl's there and they get loads of compliments. Yet if you post a random picture of someone totally unrelated to the board, then people are more blunt to say the least. But perhaps it's like you are saying, maybe some people are just kindly STFU'ing. Nothing to sweat, merely just a simple thought.

I agree with you on some points. If I don't have nothing positive to say I won't say nothing at all. I am too lazy to be typing lies anyways.

But on the other hand, my point ( i can't speak for Seni) is that her hair looks like a lot of the 'lhcf greats' that everyone seem to love IMO. It kind of surprised me that a few people didn't care for it-which is cool with me. Just surprised me.

Pretty much sums up what I was thinking. Either folks are saying what they truly think now as opposed to the sugar coating of board members or... LOL. I'm fairly certain if that was a new member people wouldn't say yea its long but its ugly...Welcome to LHCF. No biggie, just something I noticed. Not to say folks can't have their own opinions.

Well I haven't been on this board long enough, but I think many of the people that weren't to fussed with the model's hair were just saying that it was too lifeless.

And I think when you see the compliments on board member's hair, it's because they achieved their own PERSONAL goals. Nothing wrong on complimenting them on that, doesn't mean to say that they have to love it.

This made me laugh out loud:lachen:

Her hair is very pretty, it reminds me a lot of the east indian women I see around. I wouldn't mind the length.

My girl works on their heads and she told me that is INDEED their natural hair growing from their heads and NOT weave or wigs. They are natural and get their hair straightened on a regular basis.

I went to ATL a few mos and I was floored by the hair. it seemed like all the black women had beautiful hair. I went to Aveda and I never seen so many black women in there getting their hair shopping on. It was surely an eye-opening experience.

Then someone told me that a lot of that hair was probably lace-fronts.:perplexed

Thanks for saying that. Although I don't have wear my hair natural, I have gotten accused of wearing a wig or having folks search for tracks just because of thickness and the bounce or my hair. My stylists says I have "Oprah Hair". There are plenty of black women in and around Atlanta with beautiful hair and there are many hair care specialist (vs. hair stylist) that take care of hair wonderfully.

Yeah I lived off of Flat Shoals Parkway and Flakes Mill and Conyers is about another 15 minutes down I-20 East. Not really that far. *smile*

When I lived in Atlanta and was relaxed my hair was dubbed the "atomic bob" b/c it was full, thick, lush and healthy! The stylists in Atlanta KNOW how to get relaxed hair STRAIGHT but not stripped. Bouncy but not puffy and underprocessed. They are just very good and I have YET to find anyone else anywhere else who can do hair like the ladies in Atlanta. Whether you in the hood or high end salon there - they ALL seem to know how to do hair and keep it from breaking off. Or at least I can speak for myself.

Very true... many of the surburanites in ATL have nice healthy hair... relaxed and naturals. There are quite a few natural hair care specialist and many that focus on healthy hair period. Even though I have never had extremely long hair, it's ALWAYS been kept health and bouncy and nice looking thanks to ATL Hair Care specialists. :)

There is also a Flat Shoals down in College Park... I don't know Conyers that well because it's a bit far, but not too far from the South DeKalb area, which is the side of town I live on. I'm gonna think about calling this guy although I am fairly loyal to my current Hair Care Specialist.

I can co-sign to that!

I've only had 3 regular stylist since I was 15 and they have all been on point and all were not in high end areas... Right in the Decatur (where everything is greater ).

My 2 were in Decatur on Candler Road near South DeKalb Mall and the other right on Flat Shoals Parkway in a dive of a salon. She did excellent hair she was just SLOW AS ALL GET OUT!

Her hair is so long and healthy and even. I can just imagine how long it took to grow it that long. As far as her hair being thin or limp (like some are saying) maybe she relaxes her hair bone straight or maybe she just has thin hair or maybe on this particular day she just wanted that sleek flat look. I am quite sure if she wanted her hair to look super full she could, who knows how she wears her hair from day to day. What I do know is that she is proof that black folks can grow hair as long as the next..

Too funny... I used to go to a salon right there off Flat Shoals Pkwy where there were 2 salons side by side in a dive strip mall. And now I go to Salon Aniyah on Rainbow near S. Dekalb Mall. Small world. :)

Co-sigining CurleeDST and FAMUDva. I lived in Atlanta (Heck, I kinda still do) and many of my friends and family have long, healthy hair. I grew my short hair out in ATL to BSL before transitioning and never had any stylist drama (assistant drama, yes). I went to the salon evey 2-3 weeks.

For the most part, if I need a hair cut or any major hair change, I am on a flight to ATL.

You raise a really good point here, and it made me think....hmmmmnnn.:look:

My soror attended Spelman and she has waist length hair. My other girl who married my husband's very good friend also attended Spelman and has just past BSL hair. I saw her over Christmas break. She now goes up to NJ to the dominicans to get her hair done every 6 months. Otherwise she does it herself.

Either way, they both grew their hair out while living in ATL going to the hair specialists there because they focused so much on hair health. And since I moved from ATL over 10 years ago I really can't remember what and how my stylist used to maintain my hair's health but she did. And once I moved away I could see the difference and "demarcation" if you will of where the health started to change or at least the feel of my hair started to change.

But either way folks, whether you like the style or not, the woman deserves credit for the time and patience it took to obtain that length in such a healthy state.

Good for her and anyone else who can attain their goals.

Now, now that's one full head of hair. I don't think I would want mine that long (if I could grow it that long), too much time and effort to maintain it, me thinks.

Isn't Chicoro's hair about the length?
I think so. Hiza's hair is also, as well as the lady from another board who posted her pic in here.:)

sorry ladies for the tripple reply, I just wanted my reply to make sense l.o.l if read the furst one it don't make to much sense. sorry again.

Beautiful hair on both of them!! That stylist may have even helped her get her hair to that length with loving care.

Nobody here was cussing the girl. Yes there are some people on the boards who's hair isn't *my* preference- yes. Am i going to go into a thread about them and say that their hair is thin?-No why would someone want to do that? I just refrain from posting.

I would be really surprised if her regimen is really different from what a lot of ladies do on this forum. Probably a lot of deep conditioning, minimal heat, protective styles, no daily brushing, trims after relaxer, etc. :)

I agree, and it's not like she got that hair overnight. Probably over the course of YEARS it got that long. Many ladies here, even with shorter hair now, can have hair that long given several years time of course...
