How much money have you spent since joining this board...

Everyone in this thread should be starting her post with "Father forgive me for I have shopped. It's been 23 days since my last credit card statement."

I'm not posting any amounts; I'll just give a few key words: Pibbs, Runway, WEN, Phyto, more Phyto, Platform....

 ! ! ! ! You need to go:sleeping:lay down too !

It's the kind of thing you dare not tell anyone. What would your friends/family think if they knew about the amounts your spend on your hair? Do you have to hide things from your SO?

okay.........I thought you said you were going somewhere and lie down:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

lmao, I'm unintentionally making it worse aren't I. Alright I'm going to bed. :lachen::lachen:

I still want that Kiehls though!

Girl, if it's giving you the 'trembles' and stuff like that, you need to just go ahead and cop. It makes no sense walking around shaking & stuff. So, scroll back up to the top of your post and add that on your list.:lachen:

Don't even want to think about it!!! :pullhair: There are 3 beauty supply stores with a couple of minutes of where I work - so u already know where I am at lunchtime! :spinning:

I'm going to be good and use up my ever growing stash first! I think I'll just stay away from department stores for a while though!

I haven't spent anymore than I would have before I joined the board. I used to always buy new hair products.

Actually, I probably spend less now since I only use all natural stuff. And, I never went through a PJ phase.

Since February of last year...I'd say 500$ total...and that includes products, hair for weaves/braids, cost of weaves/braids, and headbands/bobby pins/scarves, etc. I probably spend more on headbands than I do on hair products.

I have spent $3,089.12 on hair care since 2004. (I track my spending with Microsoft Money.)

In 2007, I finally learned that there is no correlation between the amount of products bought and hair growth or retention. Especially since I still haven't achieved my BSL goal despite all that spending. Other than my soft bonnet dryer, a solia flatiron, and a conair blowdryer, and approximately $150 worth of products bought since 2008 (less than $300 total), I don't really have much to show for what I bought. It's amazing how a $10 or $20 here and there adds up. So I drastically cut my spending. Going paraben-free helped significantly (I've since began using one product with paraben, Trader Joe's Nourish Spa conditioner).

In 2008, I spent only $298.40 on hair care. This year, I've spent $69.46 so far, and my goal is to spend less than $150 for the year.

I'm doing this to prove something to myself...

WOW ! Thats's a good idea (tracking on MS Money). Right now, I'm afraid to. I'm sure this 'phase' will pass and everything will balance itself out.:ohwell: At least, that's what I am hoping.............

Too Much!!! :lachen:
Im constantly saying "oooh i need this for my hair" and now im running out of space for all of my products. i guess i have joined the product junkie club! :drunk:

Hair Board - $1000 (and going)
Makeup Board - $400 (never worn makeup b4; now I started to)
Health Board - $100 (and getting a slender body)
Christian Board - $60 (new bible)
Books Board - $20
Fashion - $0 (YET!!!)

Too much...... I dont even want to think about it.
I've slowed down alot.This year, I've spent only $18:yep:

LOL. I don't want to think about all the money that I have spent since joining. I don't feel so bad when I think about the fact that I have saved hundreds by not getting a relaxer in the 2.5 years that I have joined.

Excellent Point. And I was a weekly client. So, I know what I have currently spent is much "Less" than what I was spending with weekly visits, tips, and the total hours spent (which I will Neva be able to recoup). So when I x that by 1 year alone, even though I just became a DIY, and more recently a member of this board I am still so way ahead of the game. So I guess, thinking about it in those terms, I feel justified:lachen:

I can't even make a list....there's too much to remember.
I'd have a small fortune if I'd saved all that money.

Going paraben-free helped significantly (I've since began using one product with paraben, Trader Joe's Nourish Spa conditioner).

Cutting out all unnatural hair products really helped me because it really limits what I can buy.

While searching for the right regimen I spent close to $200; over a period of time of course. Since finding what works for me I haven't spent anything. My staple products will last me a while. They are working for me and I'm not switching or searching for anything new unless they stop working.

I hadn't added up the numbers until I saw this thread. It is HORRIFYING!

I just joined in February; I officially started my hair journey on March 10. In the past six weeks, I have spent $385 on hair products!!! That equals over $64 a week! I feel kind of disgusted with myself now...I had thought I was being fairly frugal. :nono:

Everything has been worth it, IMO, except for the two Herbal Essences products I bought in the first week: the Long Term Relationship leave-in, and the Hydralicious conditioner...they are garbage, IMO. I don't like or need 'cones in everyday products. I'm not impressed with the V05 conditioner, either--it made me itchy. I'm just not really a huge fan of cheap drugstore products.

Oh, and I got two press & curls, and a lacefront, too (I never would've gotten them if I hadn't been reading the forum). The wig was supposed to be a protective style, and the first press was to do a starting length check. So my real total is $765 since joining LHCF. :ohwell:

wow i feel bad looking at my post now. i may have a problem. im going to google budget and see if i can hang.
