Having A Secret Bank Account?

I'll have a secret stash and it'll be a joint account with my Mom. That way if there's a divorce, it can't be touched. Cynical, but you gotta protect yourself out here.

It won't? Will this work if say it's a joint account with your sister instead?

There is no way to hide money during a divorce however it's good to have to have a few months of living expenses stored away. I don't think the secret account needs to have like tens of thousands of dollars in it.

in this day and age where everything is available online (where a potential angry soon to be ex husband and his divorce lawyer can easily find it), I think 10k in cash is decent break money. it's at least enough for first and last months rent on a new apt.

Speaking of which, where should one store their cash? I've been racking my brain trying to figure out the best spot to stash a large amount of money in my apartment. Anyone?

if you search amazon there are security boxes designed to look like common items around the house (eg, books, clocks, soda cans) that can hold a good amount of cash. There are small safes that can be bolted down but figuring out the best place to put is a challenge in an apartment
