I agree with what you're getting at. People have a pre-defined # of follicles. It's a matter or realizing one's follicular potential - if your hair is constantly breaking (creating an unevenness) or follicles in certain areas (ie temples) need stimulating, your potential won't be realized. In her case, she has above-average potential for thickness and she's realized that potential by growing out her layers, retaining strands and not putting too much stress on her follicles with a low-mani regimen. Someone with less potential can be doing all the "right things" and still have less thickness.I think for the most part people either have thick hair or they don't to be fully real with you.
