**Hair Porn Alert!** LongHairDontCare's NEW Hair Journey Video!

OMG!!!

Her hair is GORGEOUS!!!

I think I just had a hair-gasm... :look:

How on EARTH does she keep her hair looking so STRAIGHT?? It's almost like over time, her hair got to be "trained" to stay somewhat straight.

It's so thick!

Seriously, her album just gave me so much PRIDE for black hair. Our hair is GORGEOUS! And so versatile! :yep: I'm almost ready to do a BC and go natural after watching this video! :lachen:

Her hair is heat trained. She has a video about it. That's why I think it's funny when I see a thread where people diss heat training. My hair is heat trained, and I have the healthiest hair I ever had. She's one of the reasons I decided to give up the BKT.

:thud: at first i was like lemme see what everyone is prolly exaggerating about; i didn't even plan to sit thru the full 7+ mins, but i'm soo glad i was wrong.. I couldn't stop watching that beautiful God-given head of hair. there was no exaggeration what so ever in this thread.. EVERYTHING yall said her hair was, it IS exactly that.. BEAUTIFUL, AND HER STYLES ARE JUST BREATHTAKING!!!

I've always known how PS styles work for me and cornrows, flat twists etc. But UGH the prep for doing that meaning setting an apt, get ready to pay at least $60 makes it harder. I'd rather twist up my hair for FREE lol. IDK, I might have to get back on this braided bandwagon. Ladies, mount up!

I tend to base my progress on the amount of year's that other people have spent growing their hair and I thought in 4 years I'd be at WL which puts me at the end of 2010. But it's not enough. I want full WL lightly blowdried hair and I'm not there yet unless I press it. Looking at these pics I have a couple more years to in order to achieve obnoxious hair like LHDC...I'll wait, no prob.

@ the bolded Hush ur mouth! ur hair is amazing too!!!!! after ur last blowout I had to fan myself reading your threads lol

:amen:Girl I always giggle a when I see a post like that....theres a way to do it so the effects are subtle but just enough to aid in retention.......but most people wanna remain hair extremists:rolleyes: Oh well all I know is I'm retaining:grin:

I am also surprised at how many people are saying she has "special" hair. It looks like she has thick well taken care of hair; not some amazing ultra rare hair. You'd see more hair like that if so many longed haired ladies stopped hanging on to thin ends.

I am not natural but I subscribed to her! Wow good for her, just gorgeous and I wonder how she achieves half those styles, braids and flat iron/pressed hair are both beautifully displayed. So healthy, shiny, thick, wavy, so much texture and volume. Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing OP!

ITA. I was reading that heat training thread and I was so confused. I'm glad to hear some naturals are "heat trained" with healthy hair. :yep:

That's wonderful. I love her ends too. Her grooming skills are excellent. It definitely is not braiding=long hair and that is all. There is alot that goes into the whole process. I'm so happy for her.

I'm grateful for the reminder.

I sincerely hope people realize that. A lot of people can't take the tension of braids, especially braids like crochet braids, with the weight of the hair pulling down on the cornrows. Small braids tend to thin out one's ends over time. I would hate to see a bunch of people end up with thinning edges or patches of lost hair.......which happened to a ton of people when braids were really popular.

It's hard to find a stylist who can do Alicia-Keys type braids. She has the best of the best stylists. You can pay a grip and they will still be pulling on your hair way too tight.

Hey guys. This is a pic of my hair before I bc'd when it was blown out. I definately had some breakage and it was a lil uneven but I basically wannam know if I have any hope yall....lol:grin:

I love LongHairDontCare's hair and I wanted to know if I have any hope in achieveing thick, lush hair

Your hair is already thick, just not as long as hers.

Actually, the brand of hair I used to do my crochet braids is feather light, its the most weightless extension style I've ever experienced as a matter of fact.....nothing pulling on my cornrows whatsoever. I can understand the fact that not everyone's hair can handle cornrows though.

I also don't agree with braids thinning out one's ends over time...you can braid your hair in such a way that your ends are tucked away and protected....like if you make it just one long continuous braid till you get to your nape.

How do you blowdry? with the comb? Ive tried the tension method, cool shots, etc etc. My hair either doesn't get blown out/little effect (cool shot) or I lose hair. Every time. The ssk's come out yeah because they're on the floor :lachen: along with the rest of my ends. I must be doing something wrong. What method do you use while you blowdry?
So sorry. Just noticed this. I do us e the comb attach similar to hers. I of course detangle first and take tiny, tiny sections of hair and blow dry through with the comb, part (comb through with my detangle comb again) and then blow dry with comb attach ment, and then repeat.

I braid my hair in loose braids to let it stretch out and walk around as it airdries a bit before doing (the above) and I then do the whole detangle thing again, and part in tiny sections before starting as written above.

Maybe you're taking too big of a section? I have fine strands so I can't just gos at it with a comb attach even after detangling (after my wash/cond). I have to separate into one inch thin sections.

Also when I go over the hair with the blow dryer, I wait before going over that section again by going to anothen (it's good to separate parted sections with clips) so that the section cools down before I blow it again.

CHI infra treatment is good at keeping hair strong. HTH

I can't speak for the flat ironed hair but I know she has a braider. I pm'd her about it and found out.

She says she still makes sure to tell her what to do in the beg inning (not too tight, use a wide tooth comb, etc) but she says now the lady pretty much knows and does what she says. She said the key is to find someone willing to listen.

supermodelsonya has just relayed this message to me from LongHairDontCare:
she wanted to let you guys know she REALLY APPRECIATED the thread and alll of the positive responses here.

She also wanted Celina to know that her hair is gorgeous and drool worthy!

*sidenote* I had my brother watch this video (the whole thing) and he was like  her hair looks beautiful! I think he said something like Egyptian Goddess lol he loves natural hair on women it was cute.

Absolutely agree with this post. Actually, when I wear my hair in braids (even for an extended period of time) when I take them out, detangle, and condition my hair, I see increased volume. I don't go to professionals anymore, I braid myself and this PS helps me to retain like no one else's business. :yep:

*lights a cigarette and then falls asleep and goes up in flames*

BMP, how I missed this thread, I dunno coz I just witnessed beauty beyond words. She's so pretty and her hair!!! I feel weak.... Totally smitten! It's not just the length and health, but also the fullness. I am struggling to think if any head of hair has left me feeling possessed by something so great I lost the will to speak before. No exaggeration, but I honestly don't even feel like my mouth can move or make a sound. I can type but I'm physically speechless.

Thanks BMP for sharing.

Her hair is straight nasty :nono: :ohwell: (Of course in a good way!) Im lovving it. It seems like she basically has blunt hair as well which attributes to her over all volume besides her length.

I sure wish I could have a braid regimen but cornrows and my hair dont get along. They look a month old by day 3 and they start to unravel slowly but surely at both the ends and the roots. Its weird.

Thanks so much for posting that video.
