Miss...........Alma Oil. :nono: I just can't make myself get over the pissy smell. I did a pre poo with it today and I almost washed it right back out. Even with EO's that original scent stands out. I will try the Alma Lite Next time around.

Hi Letitia! You should like the Dabur Amla light. It's a different scent altogether! :)

Two more hits:

Decca Plus Scalp Therapy and Design Essentials Anti Itch scalp Treatment

I rarely put products on my scalp but I like to have a few products on hand when I get the urge to oil my scalp once in a while.

The Design Essentials Treatment has a nice tingle and contains menthol, sulfer, and salicylic acid as the active ingredients. It's especially helpful for those with dermatitis; I don't have dermatitis but this is a great product to relieve itchy spots which I usually get about a week after a touch-up.

The Decca Plus product has several great ingredients also including Keratin Protein, Silk Amino Acids, Wheat Protein, Aloe, Rosemary Oil, and Tea Tree Oil etc....I love to use products that actually have some of the properties that hair is made up of like the Keratin Protein in order to keep my hair strong.

Did you use Dabur Alma Oil? The one from FNWL isn't so bad.

I just finished looking but I dont see it. I looked under oils and I did a search on their site. I will try it again tomorrow.

ETA.....I found it!

I've never used the kind of amla oil you bought (Dabur), but like I said before, the one from FNWL doesn't smell too bad and it doesn't have mineral oil in it which I know some do not like. Let me know what you think if you get it.

on the fence about: ORS Olive Oil..not the moisturizer, the one in the jar

It leaves my hair greasy but it wears off a lil by the morning, and I don't really reep benefits unless I use a lot.

Hey MonaLisa,
It was like butta... Soon as my check comes on Friday I am ordering a mess of Cassia! I rinsed under my shower head with Dove Moisturizing Conditioner (forgot to add that ...) :D

Hmmm.... I usually order my Henna and Amla powder from Mehandi...I might have to make the switch to Henna Sooq.

Really! Yea! I just put in an order that I should be getting for the Cassia soon from Henna Sooq - order got processed so quick, I couldn't believe it:eek: . I only ordered 100g because I wanted to try it out first, but your response has me feeling good about trying out and ordering more :D

I'll follow it up with a NTM DDC/Tropical Coconut combo. Thanks for the feedback!:)

I'm not sure how you're using the Garnier - I was going to use it as a pre-poo and to condition wash. My hair seems to like what you use, so I think it'll be cool ;)

When I first opened my bottle of Dabur Amla, I really liked the fruity/floral scent. But once I put it on my hair and let it sit....whoa. It does smell "pissy"! I use it for pre-poos on occasion, but man oh man, the smell is definitely a deterrent.:perplexed

I love the Garnier, I use it after shampooing and before deep conditioning. Since I wash in braids, I take down one braid at a time, add some Paul Mitchell the Detangler and smother my hair with the Garnier, then I comb under the shower stream with it. It has wonderful slip and I like that it's an anti-breakage conditioner too.

Hmmmmmm....thanks for sharing that..;)
I may try it that way as well.

Hit:

Chaokoh brand coconut milk ($1.29 local) I started using this mixed with hair mayo and Silk Elements MegaCholesterol and loved it. Today I poured warm coconut milk over my hair and it got soft and detangled easily:)
This is a keeper!!!

Hits:
Amla Oil
Vatika Oil
Henna

HUGE HIT:
Redken Heavy Cream - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!

Misses:
Redken Detangling Cream (shouldn't a detangling cream actually detangle? :ohwell:)

RIGHT!! IT fooled me like that also. Smelling all good at the store! lol

Forgot a hit:

Chi Silk Infusion - I was on the fence with this one, but it got my hair so silky when I flat ironed. I will definitely be buying again.

Came back in for this weekends

NTM Cream Lather Shampoo (oh yeah!)
NTM Healing Shine Serum
ETA: NTM Smooth Shine Anti-Frizz Cream with UV Shield

Revisited w/success: ORS Hair Mayonnaise (as a prepoo)
NTM Daily Deep Conditioner (mixed w/the Hair Mask, thanks Mona!!)
NTM Deep Recovery Hair Mask
NTM Silk Touch Leave-In Cream (why DID I stop using this?)

Hi VWVIXXEN - I loved this stuff! I am so sorry I slept on it for so long!
I have never had a leave-in melt into my hair and make it soooo silky! It's a keeper! Glad you had a great hair weekend! I did too thanks to NTM Silk Touch Leave-in! (Sonja sounding like a commercial for NTM!)

Hits:
Aveda Black Malva Shampoo
Mane & Tail Detangler
Motions Moisture Plus
All Ways Castor oil hairdress
Self-relaxing, my best self relax ever! I actually don't have to flat iron my roots! :yay:

On the fence:
Fantasia Frizz Buster gel- Didn't really do a heck of a lot. Will revisit when I get new growth again and want to airdry my roots straight.

My mom swore by the black malva shampoo for years. She has gray hair, and it's supposed to make it appear more silvery. Isn't that one of the shampoos they're discontinuing? I thought I saw that on the Aveda website a while back.

Plain yogurt - thanks Honeydew. I love this stuff. Makes the hair really strong and it's cheap!

Revisited hit: Sulphur 8 dandruff treatment for braids (spray this inbetween my sew-in and I notice growth already in 2 weeks)

HIT: my fluke MTG mix, just mixed stuff together to get rid of my products (I rub this on my scalp in between the cornrows on top of the sulphur 8 spray)

:lachen: :lachen: Y R U soooooo....crazzay?! Yep, it's official, I'm on board with the NTM. My hair turned out sooo nice!

Now, I'm on the hunt for some Suave Milk and Honey Conditioner (though I think this is futile cause I think it's gone, all gone...but I hope...!) I need a replacement for my DDTA which is almost gone, FINALLY!

I got frisky this weekend and tried Soy Milk plain yogurt and Buffalo Milk Plain yogurt mixed in with my cassia powder. The Buffalo milk yogurt seemed thicker and the Soy milk plain yogurt was darker in color and creamier. I saw them on sale at a health food store and decided to try something different.

I did not notice much difference except that there was more dripping/liquid in the plastic cap that I had on after leaving the mixture on for an hour or so. Not sure why, but they were just as good as my regular plain yogurt.
