I got some of this a couple of weeks ago, and I mix it with my leave-in (Giovanni Direct or Sidr Tree Butter Balm). It makes my hair feel so thick! Do you use it to deep condition? I was thinking about trying that this evening. I'd mix it with a moisturizing conditioner, though.

I sure do. I love it! During the week I use it as a rinse conditioner when I don't have time to deep condition, but on the weekend, I use it with heat or just leave in on for an hour or so. It really helps me detangle all of this NG. Between this and my Moisture's Moisture Plus, my hair is behaving very well these days.

Thanks! I don't know why it didn't occur to me to try it as a deep conditioner. I'll give it a try.

hits: ORS moisturizing hair lotion, herbal essences hello hydration conditioner (great for detangling during post relaxer); nexxus emergencee; and chi silk infusion for pre-relaxer treatment(I think by using this it contributed getting my relaxer straighter).

misses: pre-pooing didn't really do anything extra for me.. no matter what products I would have used.. I will just stick to shampooing/deep conditioning and use my rinse out conditioners post relaxer.

Hits: Decca Plus Deep Conditioner (I had absolutely no tangles after rinsing the conditioner out at 19 plus weeks post relaxer! It also has great ingredients (with the exception of paraben) and a pleasant, sweet fragrance).

Decca Plus Satin Tame Spray Moisturizer...It's great for moisturizing my ends and for creating shiny rollersets.

The only thing that I don't like about the Decca products are the parabens but I use the products in moderation.

No misses this month, I'm trying to stick to my staple products.

Where did you get this.

HIT:

Aveda Brilliant Universal Styling Creme - I really love this cream. I don't suggest it for base moisture, though. But, if your leave-in and conditioners are on point, this is a good daily cream to maintain moisture and the shine is  A little goes a long way, too! (which is good since this bad boy was $16)

MISS:

I was sad about this one because it used to work for me. Culture Moisturade. I am trying to "use it up" and decided to use the last bit of this that I had for a deep condition. It was #1 Too thick (needed some oil or something - Roux PC may have been good, too) and #2 did not rinse like my Motions Moisture Plus does - it was kinda filmy. I think it may be good for anyone that needs some volume though. My hair was too "big" after using this. I used to want more volume, but now it was too much (thanks to my henna :D ). I clarified my hair a few days later and my hair was back to normal.

I am so glad that Aveda worked out for you. I love that one and I use it exactly as you described!

**I gotta try that Mane and Tail Con. I have a bottle I have never tried. Thanks!

Hits:

Cold water rinse - tried this last night to rinse out my deep conditioner. I wimped out and only rinsed the ends, not all the way down to my scalp (that water was COLD:eek: ). It left my hair sooooooo shiny and soft!

Mixing my Fantasia IC gel with oil - still holds down my edges but doesn't leave them crunchy. Also adds sheen that the gel alone doesn't provide.

Solar Rollers - great for rolling up my ends when airdrying. Leaves them smooth in the morning. Plus, they're easier to sleep on than flexirods!

Mane N Tail shampoo & conditioner (original formula) - the shampoo doesn't strip my hair, and both products make it feel very soft and thick. Thumbs up!:D

Misses:

Pre-poos - they don't do anything special for me, and it's just an added step in my wash routine.

Mizani H20 Intense Night Time Treatment - makes my hair shiny but doesn't impart the moisture I was expecting. It's also a little heavy for my hair (or maybe I just applied too much). I'm donating this to another member.:)

HITS:
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo...WOW!
(so good it's worth mentining again) ORS Replenishing Pak:grin:

MISSES:
NeXXus Therapee Shampoo:ohwell:

Where did you purchase the Decca products?

I think prepooing may be a hit for me... I did it the last couple of weeks and it worked prettywell. Nice soft hair

Hits: ORS Replenishing Pak used after my deep conditioner
ORS Hair Lotion used on very damp hair... my hair came out soft and
tangle-free the next day!
Softee Hair Hemp: yes, it's grease... but my ends need it!
WGO: I still love this

Misses: CON Shampoo! I can't believe I'm typing this but it left that
infamous "film" on my hair and I had to clarify! :(
LeKair Cholesterol- just didn't get the job done and I'm 22 months
post
Fantasia IC gel w/Sparklites: It left white flakes after 1
application!

Needless to say now I'm looking for a new moisturizing shampoo, deep conditioner and holding product. I guess those old products worked well when I was semi-relaxed but now that I'm almost natural, they're not getting the job done anymore! :perplexed Any ideas?

OH NO!!! you didn't like the consistency or something?! this stuff is wonderfully moisturizing on my hair...as a matter of fact, i need to purchase more cause im low....you wanna send it to a nice loving home (aka-my home!!!)?!!?

Dang! I was about to hold my basket out for it...
I'll treat it right....

I'm trying to find time to get to the BSS and try to work out a deal for a discount if I buy 12 or 15 at one time....

I can't use it either. That's all I used to own back in the day, too. I loved me some CON. I never even conditioned. :look: I just used that.

But, now, I just can't use it. At best I can get away with the regular with the yellow top for a wash or two, but after that - NOPE! I can never use the ultra moisturizing one anymore.

I got my products when visiting a salon in my hometown last weekend but for everyone interested you should be able to order the products online, the site should be:

https://deccaplus.hostexcellence.com/catalog/index.php

or google "Decca Plus by Natural Beauty Products"

They work very well for me.

The ingredients for the deep conditioner look very good. I'm so tempted right now. Lawd knows I don't need no more stuff. I just bought stuff a few days ago.

Hit: Profective Healthy Ends. I put this on my ends last night and my hair was like....Thank you. I have had it for awhile and never tried it because it was so thick. Thanks TSmith for the product recommendation!

Miss.....LeKair Castor Oil Grease. I tried using this for sealing my ends and this thick grease just coated my hair. It was hell to wash out. Now, my husband use it and he loves it. He asked me this morning was it one of those expensive products. lol. It's a keeper for him.
(One man's trash is another man's treasure. What works for one might not work for all. YES, These are true statements!)

Hits- Queen Helen Cholestrol (BOGO at Walgreens) my hair loves it, nice and thick.

B&B Oil Moisturizer-has replaced my ORS in the jar. Yummo:)

MEGA MISS-Beyond the Zone Protein Cocktail (YUK!) My hair was a tangled and rough mess. I'm returning this stuff PDQ!

Marvelous Healthly Looking Hair! If my hair was as manageable as your hair looks to be, I would never get another perm.

I just got UBH Lotion Creme by Cathy Howe and it is Remarkable. I hope its what my hair needs to retain moisture.

Major Hit
C & G washing method. I modified it a little, so I use a face towel instead of sponge.

Mixed Review: CHI Silk Infusion
I used a quarter-size amount on each of four sections. It was like I was flat ironing my hair bare. I had almost finished my whole head, and I decided to get heavy handed with it to see what would happen, and WOW! The one little section in the front that I decided to place a quarter-size amount on was silky, straight, and shiny, the way I wanted my whole head to be. Next time, I will use more, but I cannot afford to go through a whole bottle of this stuff every time I flat iron. When is the generic coming out??? Also, the next time I washed my hair, it felt :look: like a different head of hair, in a good way.
