Right now..I'm having a moment. I'm looking at my hair and I know I should be putting in some work. I'm just feeling so lazy with my lifetime and blue bell ice cream (no joke, true story). So my question is, do yall get lazy with your hair? How do you all keep it cracking?? Also how do you determine when you are doing too much?? I need to know..cause homegirl is losing it!

I'm at that point too. My heating cap and i are now best friend I condition with it, hot oil treament with it and then simply bun it. No extra NOTHING. I've cut down on how many products I use and everything. I had to get a grip and now i'm just not into it like i use to be. I guess this is called finding your groove because my groove is lazy. Right now, I'm deep conditioning with a heating cap, some keracare humecto and jojoba oil. I'll rinse and wrap with a scarf, tomorrow will be a bun.

I'm with you when you're right! I'm sooo lazy it's ridiculous. I think us being lazy could be a good thing because when I'm in a lazy mood, all I do is cowash, moisturize oil and slap on a tam or faux bun. I already told SO when my hair is long enough to get a decent cute bun it's over, he's gonna be sick of the bun errrrday:lachen:

lazy ain't the word.

I don't moisturize, seal, rollerset, nothing.

i just let cowashing 4x a week take care of all that.

I've had about 3 hair funks since finding this site. The last one got so bad, dh had to tell me about myself! :lachen:

I had to MAKE myself comb my hair yesterday. It was in the same dry a**, uncombed bun for days. I don't think I'll be doing anything to it for another week or so. I just don't feel like it :ohwell:

Uh yes. Which is why I am natural plus short again. I realize I will probably never go bone straight again in my life. I'm old, lazy and going the senile scenic route. LOL

Hey do they have a support thread for this? If not, we need to make one.

Sure do!

Sure am in a funk:ohwell: I've been in a bun for a week, it's not dry though. I do put coconut oil every morning and every night. I'm thinking about doing a texlax t-up tomorrow but don't feel like it. Since we'll be on the road for a month I guess I'll do it now instead of waiting. I need my hair to be on point.:yep:

ugh

I get lazy all the time and working overnight does not help. When i feel this way i always remember what my hair used to look like when i was not taking care of it. And that is enough motivation for me to get up and do something . If im not feeling well the baggy is my best friend so at least my hair will be moisturized.

The basis of my regimen is the fact that I'm lazy.

I spent a few months this year rinsing everyday, putting some castor oil on, and just letting my hair airdry in a puff.

Otherwise, I'm in celie braids under a wig, rinsing in the shower, putting castor oil, and letting my hair airdry.

I just started back (like last week) forcing myself to detangle and it's really the only extra thing I'll make myself do.

No problem with laziness as long as your hair is ok. My hair doesn't need much more than water and some oil to keep it happy so I can be as lazy as I want.

Since my BC..I've been on Bum mode...Wash...oil...Go...Maybe a weave here..braids there....and...GO... yup .. that seems to be it... lol

I'm always lazy with my hair. I'm amazed that I still have hair on my head. I don't tie my hair up at night, I barely moisturize it (but I cowash in the shower or just rinse everyday :look: ) And the only 'style' I do is a variation of wash and gos lol. I tried twists and comb coils and well... that takes too much effort

What are Celi braids?

The braids Ms. Celie wore in The Color Purple. This is exactly what mine look like. When my hair gets longer I will be wearing them out the house as a style.

Lazy as far as extending my shampoo days beyond 3-4 days and that's about the extent of my 'laziness'. I've been in the healthy hair mode for too long to be lazy about treasuring my hair.

oh ok. Thanks we call that plaiting your hair when I was growing up. I like to see thick hair in Celie braids. I bet its pretty on you.

I KNOW I'm getting lazy with my hair when I'm actually contemplating doing a bun/protective style challenge.

Got so lazy i went out and purchased a blow dryer. Got sick of doing rollersets. Well the blowdryer required more work than rollersetting so i took that thing back to Sally's.

I keep looking for cute barettes and hair clips to pin my hair up cause i'm sick of doing it.

If it takes longer than 5 mins to get ready to go somewhere then i dont want it. And since i stretch, and my NG is showing, i can't wear my half wigs. Textures dont match up.

I have been in lazy mode as well..except this time I was smart about it vs. last year. Last year when I got lazy, I stuck an LF on my hair..problem was the LF was so much work in itself that I ended up letting my real hair go & ended up losing edges...So this year..I felt myself getting lazy..I would cowash and then put HE LTR, Seyani Hair Butter and then a cream base to seal it all in but i would only do it like 3x a week and not moisturize other then that. I mean my hair never felt dry but still I knew the time had come...and I kept 'forgetting' to DC so I decided do a henna treatment, DC with Keracare for 30 mins..& then get sister twists..best decision so far! I have been keeping up with my one time a day spritz which is rose water + aloe vera! It smells great and its perfect for my lazy mode!

I dont call it lazy, i call it simple:yep:

Im now starting to get into styles. I cowash almost everyday. If i cowash at night i will put my hair in pig tails, so that allows me to not touch my hair for 2 days. Im also starting to twist and rod set my hair. When i twist that gives me 3-5dys off(no touchy:grin:) and when i rod set, that gives me 1-2dys off.

YOUR HAIR IS:grin::blush::spinning::yep:!..wow girl!

At this stage in my stetch (16 weeks post), lazy would have to be the word. I don't comb, wash or manipulate under 14 days. I'll moisturise and that's it. I had every intention of doing a protein treatment last week. I didn't even DC:nono:. My wash was done in 10 mins and I moisturised and air dried. But the flip side is, I can't remember the last time my hair felt so thick:yep:

My regi is simply benign neglect. I am kind to my hair but I leave her alone to do what she do! I haven't combed my napps in FIVE days. This is a personal record & i'm only slightly apprehensive about my upcoming detangling session...que sera sera...

I wake up fluff & go!

When my hair isn't out it's secured in twists, braids, knots, rows, for days at a time. I've never been big on styling, but healthy hair is important to me. As long as my hair continues to thrive i'll continue with my benign neglect routine.

haha...i definitely have calmed myself down in the months after the BC...man, I remember I used to DC every two or three days, baggy every night, co wash everyday with honey and olive oil-- all that mess! lol. my hair liked it, but now that my hair is long enough to do some individual twists and look super cute-- well, my hair stays braided up 'til even I can't stand it, sometimes that's three weeks at a time...shoot, right now there's so much loose hair at my nape I really can't call it a braided style, lol---but no worries here, I just spritz on my favorite moisturizers or rub it down with some suave and seal it with some castor or olive oil, and if anyone in my family tries to tell me the hairstyle is old and i need to comb it out before it locks, i just lean over and let them feel how soft my hair is!

all in all, i don't think this is so bad, because i'm convinced that the only way to hit my goal lengths is by not playing in my hair all the time
