Pics of my 9 year old's hair that i straightened tonight. She is in need of a trim but i'm waiting a little bit since she rarely wears more than twists and other kiddy styles that dont require heat.

She is sooooo cute! Her hair is long, thick, and very pretty! How do you normally style it? One big ole fluffy, drool worthy ponytail?

Now you know u better share that child's regimen!

*patiently waits with pen and 3 notepads in hand, one for each of my 3 DDs*

allmundjoi When her hair is straightened like this I place it in about 5 ponytails with balls on the ends. This way it's not out, it's not "grown", she's still able to show her length (as she whips her head all over the place ) and it's still protected. I straighten her hair maybe 3 times a year so other than that she's in twists either down or in a ponytail or sometimes I will allow a twist out for a day or two. Or i will wash, detangle and place in ponytails without straigthening.

bride91501 I don't do much to dd's hair and it thrives this way. My hair was just like this when i was younger but the difference is my mother would have my hair pressed every few weeks. I don't have time for that nor do i want all that heat on her hair. So typically i will wash her hair once every 2 to 4 weeks or so with Wen Fig. I will DC with Wen also as well as us it as a leave in. On top of that I also use herbal essence LTR leave in and hot six oil to help detangle even further. I then twist her up and leave it for a few weeks only taking it down to refresh whatever looks crazy. When washing her hair i leave the twists in then take them down to detangle her hair. Also depending on what her hair needs i will use cantu shea butter pomeade, shea aloe curl enhancing smoothie and whatever else i may have here at the time.

Hope that made sense.

she's ADORBS! and enviable hair. love the thickness :lick:
