This is gorgeous!
How did you go so long with trimming or cutting your ends and not get splits? Do you baggy every night? What did you do to maintain those ends? I would love to go 2 years without a trim!

Thank you. I went almost a year without a trim/cut but almost 2 years without getting it straightened.

I think I avoided getting lots of splits by keeping my hair up as much as possible, co washing, and leaving conditioner and sometimes extra virgin olive oil in my hair.

Also, I very rarely use heat. Even back in 2008, I only had my hair straightened twice that year. I keep it simple and keep my hair mostly in up dos.

I never use gels, stylers, and other drying hair products. Just conditioner and EVOO. Very rarely do I shampoo because it dries out my hair . I mostly finger comb and only while my hair is wet and full of conditioner.

My hair is coarse with thick strong strands and thanks to co washing, I do not have any issues with hair dryness. I think having thick coarse strands help too.

My regimen is very simple and boring. I really don't do much with my hair. Just co wash and put it up (at least until it dries). Sometimes I'll wear it down or in a ponytail. No eleborate styles for me. If you look at my "protective styles and more" album in my fotki you'll find lots of boring "styles", lol.

So co washing, up dos, no heat, and finger combing helped me lot.

Beautiful, Beautiful Hair!!!!!!! I'm not sure if I love it more straight or curly... Wow to both.

*runs off to put MT, MN, MGT and whatever else I can find to put in hair :-)

I do feel proud. I'm able to take care of my hair in it's natural state with no help from a beautician (except for trims). I felt really happy when the beautician told me that my hair is in great/excellent condition and to keep doing what I'm doing.

Co washing, keeping my hair up as much as possible, and finger combing helped me get to this length.

An audible DAYUM came straight outta my mouf....lawd ha merci.....you are Tailbone length girl!!!!!!!!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Your hair is the Biz-ness! Thick, long and healthy - just beautiful.

What was your starting point/length to growing out your hair to this point? What was your longest hair length before starting your HHJ (BSL, APL, etc)?

That for posting. I have U shaped hair that I usually chop straight across in the spring. You look great - very inspiring!!
