When my mom was still dating my stepfather, she had this issue. She was talking about it with a friend, asking how she should refer to the man in her life. At the end of the conversation she decided that that was the most appropriate thing to say. So she would refer to him as, "The man in my life."

I just say either "This is my boyfriend," "This is my man," or "This is R****." I'm 28 and he's 31.

I just call him my boyfriend. When did that go out of style? I also call him my "beau" occasionally.

I hear people using "significant other" quite a bit these days.

I just say, this is _____. I am too grown for BF talk. When I hear "Partner" my mind always goes to homosexual couples.
