2012 - Christian Random Thoughts Thread

It was so good...yummm!

Hey sis...I sent you two texts. Will talk tomorrow! Have a great night and sweet sleep! :love3:

I'll check my cell phone, it's been charging.

Sweet sleep to you too and hubby. :sleep2: I've hung my new bathroom shower curtains, I'll put the new bathroom rugs down Christmas Eve. Bathroom decor colors are white with silver accents. I'll be done and ready to relax.

You ladies are cute in here tonight lol.

I am working the best I can and I know God sees that. In spite of the world looking down on me for a myriad of reasons I can't even let it affect me. The image of a duck who gets dust on her who rises up with every out pour of dust pushes me..I will shake that foolishness off and let foolishness be my stepping block.

Just putting that disclaimer out there.. I don't need a sticky .. lol

But yes, his ministry really is on point. Most times the word hit my inbox and I'm like,

!
I love this Ministry and no apologies are ever needed.

Thank you so much for sharing them.

@Laela....... I totally agree with @Nice & Wavy... :love3:

YHWH had me starting offical training for what He's called me to do... i feel a peace about it and an excitement...

my shabbat was excellent :D

how is everyone?

The God I Know

When the stage is bare tonight
There's no one else
Just You and me
When the curtains close behind
There's no pretense
I'm on my knees

(pre chorus)
I will lay down my life
For the love sacrifice
You gave to me
It's all because of You
All because of You

(chorus)
The God I know
Righteous and Holy
The God I know
Faithful and true
The God I know
My tower of refuge
Hearts are healed

Christ revealed
The God I know
Light of the City
The God I know
Strengthens the weak
The God I know
Your heart beats within me
As You are, so are we

(bridge)
This is my cry
My one desire
More of You
More of You

(last chorus)
The church He knows
Righteous and Holy
The church He knows
Is faithful and true
The church He knows
A tower of refuge
Hearts are healed
Christ revealed

The church He knows
Light of this city
The church He knows
Strengthens the weak
The church He knows
Is strong and mighty
As He is, so are we

Thank God for His Son entering the World to give us eternal life, hope and redemption:

God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of his Son, whom he loves. His Son paid the price to free us, which means that our sins are forgiven.

I'm not sure if anyone who is a regular poster here needs this but maybe a lurker. If you ever have dealt with rejection and lack of love of self etc here is a prayer I found.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today I come to you to acknowledge that I have sinned against myself by believing lies instead of what Your word says about me. I have let the pain of disappointment or feeling like a disappointment to others influence my thoughts and feelings. Your word tells me I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your word tells me I am not rejected, but I am accepted in the beloved. Your word says I am blessed and not cursed. I am the apple of Your eye. I have worth. I have value. For a long time I have had a hard time believing that. Today I break any and all agreements with myself and Satan that have allowed spirits of rejection, self hatred, a spirit of abandonment, fear, insecurity, inferiority, shame, bitterness, self pity and unforgiveness to manifest. I renounce all of them. Father, I repent for allowing these things a place in my life. I thank You for forgiveness. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking my pain, my sin and shame upon Yourself so that I don’t have to bear these things. Holy Spirit, forgive me for grieving You and not allowing Your Spirit to influence my thought life and actions. Please come heal my mind, my emotions, my spirit and my physical body. Heal my disappointments, my hope and my faith. Heal my ability to love myself and others. Help me see myself through Your eyes. I come into agreement with God. I declare that I AM fearfully and wonderfully made. I am loved, accepted, and I am blessed by the Lord. I am surrounded with favor and grace. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Blessings are chasing me down to put themselves into my hands. I am a confident person because you have made me whole and complete. I lack nothing because the Lord is my shepherd and I do not lack. Therefore, I am in want of nothing. Everything that is available to Christ is available to me, because I am a child of God. I have nothing to fear. Fear is no longer a part of my life. Holy Spirit, I thank You for giving me the fruit of self control and I ask You to empower me to live for God. Fill me with Your fullness. I ask You for supernatural assistance to overcome negative self talk, and I give YOU authority over my mouth and my actions. Help me overcome the areas of struggle in my life. You know what they are. I thank You for victory. In Jesus name, amen.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come."

Christmas Eve!!!

O Holy Night
(enjoying Mahalia's version today)

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

Running around for the holidays...the holiday spirit is always stirred by songs:

O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O come ye, o come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of angels

O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ, the Lord

O sing, choirs of angels
Sing in exultation
Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to God
Glory in the highest

O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ, the Lord

Yea, Lord, we greet Thee
Born this happy morning
Jesus, to Thee be all glory given
Word of the Father
Now in flesh appearing

Come, let us adore Him
Come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ, the Lord
O come, let us adore Him
Christ, the Lord

Several reasons your post is such a huge hearrwarmer and blessing...

:Rose: The very hymn it's self. I love this carol .

:Rose: My parents loved Mahailia Jackson; a true gift this woman was and her heart in her music still reigns the love of Jesus.

:Rose: Laela.... I love the beautiful 'Blue' picture of the Star of Bethlehem. The very colors of my holiday home decor are blue, white and touches of silver. I have to take a picture and post it.

I love Blue for Christmas... it reminds me of the 'Holy Night' sky, where all is calm. all is bright, the blue represents the peace of our Saviour, soft and comforting.

It's Christmas! "It's the most wonderful time of the year":

There were sheepherders camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”

At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises:

Glory to God in the heavenly heights,
Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas! I received a pink snake skin journal today which I have dedicated to writing things in it pertaining to my development as a woman of God. So I will journal about the fruit of the Spirit in my life, purifying my thoughts, and other matters of Biblical womanhood regarding me personally.

I don't know if this can help anyone but it helped me tonight. Today has been such a sad quite time but life is so short and one must make the best of their life where they are. I can't be bothered worrying what some may think about me, if I do I might just miss the mark in helping someone here that is quite.

Today is the fifth of this week’s Five Minute Retreat series, a practice in cultivating space to listen to God daily. You can make it as long or as short as you like. The “five minute” part is just an approximation.

Be blessed.

Stop.

Close every other program on your computer except for your internet browser.

Close every open tab in your internet browser except for this one.

Turn off your phone, TV, and radio.

If you’re alone or in a quiet place, turn off your music.

If you’re in a crowded public place, put on some mellow and unobtrusive music.

Breathe in, hold it, and exhale.

Are you weary?

Discouraged?

Has it been a tough week?

Share it with the Lord.

Be specific.

Don’t leave anything out.

Breathe in, hold it, and exhale.

Wait.

Listen.

We have an adversary.

Hard times will come.

But God is greater.

Read the following passage three times:

But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers. Luke 22:32

What phrase or word stands out?

Meditate on it.

What is God saying to you?

Wait.

Listen.

Do you fear disappointing God?

Do you wonder if you can persevere?

Bring those concerns to Jesus.

Wait.

Listen.

Read this passage again:

But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.

This passage suggests that Jesus wants us to persevere.

He’s praying for his people.

We won’t just get by.

We’ll help others make it.

Read this passage again:

But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.

Wait.

Listen.

Thank God for his intercession.

Rest in the promise of his support.

Ask him to manifest his strength in you today.

With God’s strength…

You can persevere.

With God’s strength…

You can help others persevere.

Wait on his strength.

Listen for his lead.

What’s Next?

If I can slip out of retreat-leader mode for a minute…

It has been good to challenge myself to stop and meditate for five minutes each day.

However, I’ll be honest, once I nibble on substantial time with God, I realize that I’m actually starving for more and that five minutes doesn’t cut it most days. I hope that these five minute retreats can serve as an accessible starting point for prayer and meditation, but that you’ll add an extra fifteen minutes some days when you sense God’s leading.

I know I need that time desperately.

So, what’s next? We’re bringing in someone who has been immersed in the study of prayer and Christian spirituality to take over the retreats next week:

I have asked Lisa Delay to continue this series of 5 minute retreats on her blog. Make sure you subscribe to her site so you can follow along.

Next Week

As for me, I’m toying with a series of posts about the changes I’ve observed in Christian theology, worship, and ministry over the past 15 years. When I signed on to follow Jesus, I thought it was all about reading the Bible and praying… My, how things have changed.

Have a restful weekend!

Father, bring certain things to an end for the women who desperately need it and will use it to end a cycle. I pray that they would build a momentum. Bless us with peace and strengthen us this morning to carry out our day. We love you. In Jesus Name. Amen

Luke 3:6
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. (King James Version)

Please allow me to lift this verse from this chapter so I can use it today. I know John the Baptist was preaching as the forerunner for Christ. But just look at what this verse says. AND ALL FLESH SHALL SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD! That happens to be an extremely profound statement. God makes sure He touches everyone with the opportunity to be saved. Those before Christ were touched in their own way. Those at the time of Christ were touched in their own way. Those after the time of Christ were touched in their own way. One man makes the difference in where you will spend eternity. It has nothing to do with your works, your wants, or your wiles. It has everything to do with whether or not you believe in the plan of God for you. Don't worry about His plan for anyone else, just make sure you don't miss His plan for you. Even if you don't think He was born December 25th, the fact remains He was born. Celebrate Him when you believe He was born, but don't condemn others for celebrating Him today. If you so desire, join me in saying: Happy Birthday Jesus! He is the salvation of God.

2013 I want to go deeper with my relationship with God, I want to be more like Him on a daily basis and be ALL about my Beloved Father. 2012 I realized that I am self centered, especially when times get rough I can really be about myself. I know 2013 will be different, it's time to really be about my Father's business
