2011 LHCF BOOTCAMP CHALLENGE

I washed my hair yesterday and double conditioned. I will probably steam this week. I wash my hair in 4 sections to reduce the tangles and so far it has been going well for me doing this. I braid my hair in four sections each night and use the mix of Shea butter, coconut oil, aloe vera and essential oils my sister mixed for our hair. It keeps it soft and shiny. Every other night I oil my ends and do scalp massages.

Suppose to be getting my hair cornrow so that I can wear my wig for like 3-4 weeks, by that time I will be 12 wks post and ready to relax.

Got my hair braided today, I will keep this up for about 3 to 4 weeks. I will moisturize with African Royale Braid Spray in the AM and HS 14 in 1 at night and using Hot 6 to seal. I am going to love not having to be worried about my hair, while wearing Solange.

I am still going strong with my African Royale Braid Spray in the AM and HS 14 in 1 at night and using Hot 6 to seal, I did at CHI Mist to the mix to give some strength....

Checking in: I AM STILL FOLLOWING THE RULES!
today I washed my hair and I'm dc'ing now without heat. Then after it airdries I will be back in cornrows for another week. My hair is doing extremely well I got some increase growth from everything I'm doing. I take my hairfinity daily I missed one day out of four months.I also take a multi-vitamin,moisturize and seal daily, use megatek every other day, and exercise and drink a lot of water and get plenty of sleep and will soon be using my 32 ounce of mtg when it gets here! I am happy I made it so far, I went from being bald from having cancer and now I am happy to have this crown of glory I do have after much work and it's healthy. I am 3 months post and will be relaxing april 10th of this year. Ladies sorry for the long post but keep up the good work and don't get discouraged! I am cancer free and happy!! Lets grow! I pray you all have hair health and length!!!

I am not sure which challenge I still need to post starting pics in so I am posting pics in all of the ones that I am in. I am sorry if I added pictures already, but you can take these as my 3 months post bc update , I can tell that I have some growth because my undetangled (tangled?) afro his bigger than before. The first two pictures are from 10/06/10 when I BC and the other two are from yesterday.

HEAT PASS USED: Jan 23rd for DH birthday! I am in the No Heat til...challenge so this will be the last time I will be using heat until I get to WL. Hopefully I will be able to make it!

I posted this in the DDDC and this is what I did after my flat iron session and will continue to do...
DC session last night with some products I purchased from Henna Sooq: Prepoo/scalp massage with Cocoveda oil (early yesterday morning) then last night shampooed with their Cocoveda shampoo bar (wonderful shampoo and will be trying the argan oil and moroccan clay bars as well). DC (steamed 20 min) with MHC Honey Hair Mask then added my ceramide oil mix (rice bran, sesame, & hemp seed oils) after steam (10 min) to seal conditioner. Followed by condition rinse with AO Island Naturals. Finally applied pure argan oil as a leave in...WOW is all I can say??? I put my hair in a ponytail and the next morning my hair was dry and tangle free!!! I could actually run my fingers & a padded brush (not something I usually do at all) through my natural hair! No breakage! And my hair was moisturized and low frizz!

Argan oil is a keeper and it's eeeeexcellent for flat ironing! :lick:

2/07.... Made 2 wks in my cornrows and Im getting a wig made on a cap to wear for Feb to hide my hair.

No rules broken. This year I am concentrating on keeping my ends split-free/ssk free as possible. I will be doing more thorough S&Ds hopefully this will help me retain even better this year:)

No rules broken. I'm in my staple style of mini-braids, no hair added. Cowashed last night, oiled my scalp and sealed my ends. This is my 3rd day bunning.

no rules broken, I washed,dc'ed, did a small protein treatment. air dried and put my hair back in cornrows. I will keep them in for a month this time. So I will post every week because I don't keep my braids in that long, normally a week and wash and then back up but I'm going to post to stay motivated!

OK so I broke a rule... I trimmed :(

But I had to!! I was getting so sick of having little broken hairs in my hand every time I touched my hair. I tried every treatment recommended on the boards and nothing helped. So I trimmed about 1/2 an inch to an inch off of all my little individual box braids. So far so good and I am so much happier. I think my punishment was more exercise? So I will be hitting my P90X up hard this week, for being a bad LHCF Bootcamp soldier lol

2/14 made 3 wks for my cornrows, 1 more wk to go. Still doing good, havent used a pass just yet, maybe soon though.

^ I've also been in cornrows for the past 3 weeks but I will keep them in for up to 8 weeks hopefully until march. I haven't used any passes this year so far and will try to remain from doing so until may or june. I am so antsy about seeing my growth- I cant wait to take these cornrows out.

I am going to commit to __2__ sessions of LHCF Bootcamp. My consequence for violating Bootcamp Rules will be _no new lippies for 1 month I am excited to see the hair progress I will make by participating in this challenge!!
