2011 Cowash Challenge--January 1st to April 30th

How many times per week will you cowash? 2x per week

What conditioners are you planning to use? whichever one I grab .

What do you hope to achieve by cowashing? no sure yet, maybe longer and soft hair.

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo - I poo every 4 weeks

CW'd earlier today with Biotera Reconstructing Condish, Suave Almond & Shea Butter cond., and left in VO5 Moisture Milks Strawberries 'N Cream. I hope I can keep up with the weekly CW thing...in winter I just hate to have a wet head b/c I'm cold by nature (hands and feet always cold--anemic)! I usually CW every other wk in winter. We will see if I can hang in there!

Checking in... I CW with Suave Almond and Shea Butter... DC with One n Only Restorative con and finished with KT leave - in...

Haven't checked in a while. I've only been able to cowash once or twice a week because I travel and have been dealing with the winter storms lately.

I've been cowashing with Infusium 23 (the rinse out) for protein followed by Suave Humectant or Suave Almond and Shea Butter condishes. I have been wearing extension braids for the past 6 weeks so I'll see how well this combination has worked for my hair after I remove the braids.

How many times per week will you cowash? 5-6x/wk

What conditioners are you planning to use? Whatever I feel like..usually Vo5 moisture milks (new love is Passion Fruit Smoothie), but I have been trying out Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture and Yes to Carrots Pampering Hair Mud Conditioner. So far Vo5 still gets my vote though I like them all.

What do you hope to achieve by cowashing? I'm hoping to achive faster growth and mega moisture.

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo? I poo. on Sunday's.

Checking in...Monday afternoon after the gym and this morning with Suave Ocean Breeze

I'm going to have to drop out of the challenge sadly because my scalp is very irritated. I haven't figured out the culprit yet so I'm simply leaving my hair alone as much as possible. Good luck to the rest of you lovely ladies. HHJ!

Sorry to hear that you're dropping out. Maybe you"ll rejoin us later.

Shampooed and conditioned yesterday. This was my first shampoo since God knows when (tsk...tsk). Next week I will cowash.

^^^Ooooohh I want some!

I cowashed this AM for the first time in a couple of days. I didn't realize how dry my hair had gotten. I need a new cowash reggie though because it takes too long in the morning (~30 min at the least). I'm considering cowashing at night but leaving in the conditioner and then rinsing in the morning, a little afraid this might overmoisturize as I would be essentially deep conditioning EVERYDAY.

I'm late but I'm in... My hair is in the ICU right now. Trying to get it back to health as quickly as possible.

How many times per week will you cowash? 1-2x per week
What conditioners are you planning to use? Trying to find what works for me again, so I have several
What do you hope to achieve by cowashing? Moisture moisture moisture!
How often (if ever) will you use shampoo? Once per week

Oh yeah today I got rid of a BUNCH of conditioners because I'm at heart a packrat and need to break the habit.
Purged:
Keracare Leave-in
Garnier Fructis Condish hydracurls
Garnier condish
Garnier Fructis sleek and shine smoothing milk
Garnier sleek and shine leave in
Silk Elements Luxury Condish
BioInfusion Tea Tree condish

I wanted to get rid of HE, but couldn't do it because they work well.
Once again still in love with Tresemme Naturals, that's one of the reasons I was able to let go of conditioners and products I really don't like

You're right! I put them in a bag to give to friends and family. I still have more than enough to do the 1-6 with (>10 bottles). The conditioners that I gave away I HATED. I would use them as shaving cream, but nothing else.

I cowashed last night with L'Oreal HydraGloss, then used my Roux Porosity Control and Conitioner, then Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor, and finally GVP Conditioning Balm.

Checking in: I have reduced the number of times I cowash. I only cowash once a week now, this has really helped with my retention because im not touching my hair as much anymore, I am really seeing my retention and i am loving my progress. Cowashing and bunning keep my hair moisturized and protected.
