2011- Be Grateful 4 Da Hair U Have

i posted this morning about all those products i bought this year. so this evening i thought, "maybe i should eat healthier and stop worrying about topicals" i found the chlorella thread, then i found the side effects thread. so that stopped me from purchasing it. look up the thread where a white lady posted here about neosporin, dry eyes and her doctors visit. i read that AFTER i put preparation h on my bald spot. and even though i have been researching history and trying to see what i can do to make a difference today, my focus is on hair and bald spots and growth aides also. i never exclude myself!!
so guess what, im included in the "all black women care about is hair" category also until we all wake up
and im not apologizing for saying that
doesnt mean im trying to point fingers at ya'll

Preparation H? My first post ever was in that thread telling people not to use it for the purpose of growing hair, that it was prescribed for something else. You say you're so enlightened but you're ignoring good advice and common sense and then blaming US when it goes wrong. Look around the forum for a while. Start off in the Newcomers guide for starting out and the Favorite stickies thread HHG

Monistat......

In 2008, I put Monistat on my bald spot mixed with Sulfur 8
I had fast heartbeat and a metal taste in my mouth and felt dizzy the first week
It gave me headaches
I stopped using it

I understand where your coming from OP but the hair section is really not the appropriate place to talk about why we as a community need to "wake up". Maybe your time will be better spent mentoring high schoolers :yep: I also see you mentioned some reaction you had from MN- people react differently to products and just because this happened to you does not mean it will to all who use it.

Also you should try not generalizing and ppl will be more likely to discuss topics with you. I know you said you werent trying to come off as negative/offensive but that original post most certainly seems that way.

That's where you messed up dude..with generalizing ALL black women. I don't know you..do you know me?? So how can you possibly know what I'm about..or anyone else on this forum is all about. No one can ever tell me everything I care about..not even people closest to me..so how can someone like you place me in a category? It seems to me that you have buyers remorse so you want (and hope) everyone else is like you. Maybe you are the one who is obsessed with hair..and you have become preoccupied over this ball spot..so you are projecting your obsession on us. A watched pot never boils..maybe you should stop focusing on your hair situation and read or do something..other than rambling about the downfalls of black women. You sound like you have so insecurity issues dude. check yourself..please! Either you have some mental imbalance or you are playing some fictional character..figure this out and get some help. (that was with all seriousness..not sarcasm)

By the way OP, did you go to a Doctor and yes I will say straight out even though I don't know your reasons you do need to see a reg doctor AS WELL AS A dermatologist after some regular blood work is done FIRST , if you havent already-you can't save anyone till you save yourself-and if you havent seen a doctor there could be a simple medical explanation, one that is simple that NO topical anything is going to do squat for.

by the way there have been other posts here from members on Alopecia and some did get shots and grew their hair back-you can recover-you don't need to be to one extreme or the other on this

How did I miss all of this drama? OP, I agree with the quote above. You are not going to find the answer to your alopecia on this board, you need to go to a dermatologist ASAP. I hope a doctor can provide a resolution.

Back to hair..

Do you wash you hair/dc daily/weekly?

Do you PS?

How often do you moisturize?

Do you eat well (diet)?

Just a few questions/answers LHCF can help you with..

none of the above
you know my search started out on growth aides and not healthy hair
i never heard of a moisture treatment until i came online and started reading the boards
im so fed up with products that i dont even want to ask what i should purchase for DC or Moisture
i just want to leave it alone for about a month
ive been researching sebum and hair product builup blocking pores
cowashing buildup etc.
i left my hair alone before and it grew back

i do apologize if i seemed to attack ya'll, but thats how i look at us as a whole because i know we can do better. but then some of ya'll are good at this and maybe your missions are health and beauty and helping people with alopecia and better hair care

Okay..I can't speak for everyone on this board..so I will speak for myself. I didn't come on this board looking for growth aids..I came on here to look for healthier hair practices. Now that I got that out of the way. It seems like you came on her looking for all the quick fixes and got duked. Now you mad..right?? In life there are no short cuts. There are processes for a reason..because you LEARN through those processes. If you came on here looking for some boom-shaka-lacka.. and didn't find it..that's your bad. This forum is full of threads about protective style, conditioning..etc. You never thought "hmm, I wonder what all these other 10,000+ threads are about"..I mean NEVER!?! You don't take care of your hair..and you don't eat right? Girl wake up! That is a recipe for disaster. I should just wave my white flag..and go make myself a smoothie...but I'm a Psych major, so I'm determined to figure out what is wrong with you!

OP have you written to companies about their products and how they are destroying the black community? Have you pm'd the owners of this board? I'm curious about their replies to you, please share.

Your statement about black men being in jail, did they commit a crime or are you talking about the one's who were wrongly convicted?

My dermatologist told me that the only thing that contributes to hair growth is a healthy body. So if a side effect of being healthy is hair growth...I'll take it.

Well, thank you for your input. I'm sure after this thread you will cancel your membership and never visit this site again. I applaud you and wish you much success in taking on every problem in the black community. As you vistec other forums, blogs and website and tell people what they should be doing, if they get hostile, stay strong. Peace.

This is like busting up a Hobby Lobby store because the people in it "only care about crafts". It's a place that serves a niche. Generalizing that I care about nothing else because I have a hobby is a big leap. I work hard. I push for my family, my community and myself. It's tiring and I like LHCF as a distraction to recharge every now and again. I need that. Plus, the perspectives that I am exposed to in the areas of this forum not dedicated to hair keep me growing, informed and hopeful--all while being amused.

 I love me some Hobby Lobby.

no big deal
some of the comments are funny as h*ll but i was kinda serious
i've done some crazy stuff trying to get my hair to grow
reading hair boards for hours, trying to mix things
mixing too much EO's and getting dizzy having to call an ambulance earlier this year (really)
staring at my hair everyday, coming here reading ya'll posts, watching videos on youtube; when i damaged my scalp i was a teenager and didnt know what the heck the glue was really doing

so, again i say, just watch what you recommend because alot of us are novices and be grateful 4 da hair u have

what is ebonics? lmao

You know about the illums, rev hagins, assata ... but not ebonics?? Well as you already know - google is your friend.
