2011- Be Grateful 4 Da Hair U Have

Monistat......

In 2008, I put Monistat on my bald spot mixed with Sulfur 8
I had fast heartbeat and a metal taste in my mouth and felt dizzy the first week
It gave me headaches
I stopped using it

alright alright.

*NB throws hands in the air*

We get it.

Some women do dangerous things for long hair. Understood.
Even understand the "things more important than hair" thing.

Cmon son. Lets not :mob:
:deadhorse:
We're all fam *insert group hug smiley here* No assumptions.

youre absolutely correct jewell, but remember the media doesnt show us everything

ya'll trip me out when you say "backing out of thread"
hope i dont come out as "confrontational angry female revolutionary...."
whatever... im just thinking out loud on LHCF

maybe 5, 10 years from now class action lawsuits will be popping up against all these vile companies selling stuff to people from the "go natural" craze; in america everything is capitalism

Oh absolutely right, I thought to add that to my thread, that we don't see much of what goes on when the cameras aren't rolling...afterall the "media" is an entity in itself, out for profit...and if the story doesn't make money or producers/people don't see it as worthy of nightly news, then it doesn't get shown. Not saying they (Black women) aren't active, just saying you don't see it as much as the other persuasions.

:blush::nono: That's scary. Never a good sign.

OK this is offtopic but what else can cause that (the metal taste) to happen? Sometimes I can taste metal in my mouth as well and I have no idea where it comes from and it happens randomly maybe a couple times a year. I've googled it and couldn't come up with anything. Do any of you know?

nvm I just googled it again and it came up with a list of common answers. Guess I'll just have to watch out if it happens again.

RE: The last part in blue...

I don't think it's fair to call out people on a HAIR CARE forum for caring about hair. I strongly doubt that's ALL most people care about but that's what we're going to talk about while we're here. There's a life outside of the forum. And if all we cared about was hair, there would be no other forums to visit. Not everyone is only concerned with hair. That's like going on a weight loss support site and saying people should be grateful and not only care about weight. Just because that's the majority of what we talk about here, doesn't mean we don't care about plenty of other things when we log off.
I agree that we should be grateful. I am grateful. But saying that we should be grateful if our hair doesn't look like yours doesn't seem like you're very grateful so... sounds a little hypocritical.

I appreciate the intent, but the wagging e-finger could be kind of off putting to some.

Uh, well we found out today that the FDA Advisory council says that metal fillings (for cavities) are made of 50% mercury and other metals like lead (which is toxic to body, known to cause cancer, kidney problems, etc). So now they are reneging on their prior rec that metal fillings are safe...composite (enamel-colored) fillings are MUCH safer. If unsure, just go with the composite since generally we know Mercury is NOT GOOD for ANY organic life-form. Composite fillings are about $50 more at the avg dentist's office, but I'd pay that to keep myself healthy and be sure of what's in an important orifice...my mouth. :look:

Other than that, you might have a build up of heavy metals in your body. This would require chelation (as with iron-overload) to remove. Ask a physician so they can test your blood and tissues to be sure. :yep:

I had a metal taste in my mouth..Not from any vit or drink It was from a filling I got when I was 11 & Doctor said it had to be removed/when it was/never happened again...Do you have any fillings in your mouth?

*I also had a complete blood work done..Just to rule out anything else..It came back fine...

You could have fed a homeless *black* child with the $6.50 you paid to post on this hair website. Damn, priorities though, right? ***

..........or we could all be out volunteering at a women's shelter, delivering meals on wheels, or reading African-American literature to the elderly. :spinning:

heck, instead of growing our hair we should cut it all off and donate it to Locks of Love. :yep::look:

And all the time that you have spent on replying to posts and lurking on this forum could have been spent volunteering and helping poor *black* people.

Um... but OP, who says people don't care about 'our' men in prison and kids not respecting themselves? :-/ This is a HAIR and MAKE UP forum after all. WTF do you want people to talk about on here? Isn't that the point of this place? I highly doubt people go about in their daily lives only talking about or caring about hair and purses and make up. When they want to do that they come on HERE.

And um, sorry, but if you feel this way why are YOU on a hair care board and not on the streets tryna help the community or something? :-/
Jus sayin...

No V05 or Skala? What?! OP, you balling outta control. You ain't spending none of that money on us. Wash your hair with your dish liquid and send your shampoo money to an orphanage, then hit me up about helping us.
