I'm not exactly sure how long my hair is right now. The length is kinda funny.:perplexed But I know I haven't met my goals yet since I have different goals for the front and back of my hair.

I want the front to rest comfortably when straight w/out stretching, at the bottom of my breasts.

I want the majority of the hair in the back to rest comfortably when straight w/out stretching, right at the top of my natural waist line....

I'll consider these goals met AFTER I trim if it meets these requirements...:)

I love layers, so I will never have all my hair the same lenght...so for me when the back is fully Mid Back.

Whatever the front says, is fine with me- It will definetly not be far away though!!!!!!

I go by the back also. My hair will never be blunt, and waiting for the shortest layers to reach my goal will take too long.

ITA with this! I measure my goals by when the back of my hair hangs on it's own at a particular spot. I agree with HoneyA that it has to LOOK, without a doubt, to be at a particular goal before I will claim it. I can't be doing backbends and contorting myself just to stretch a piece of hair to show it's at a certain length... it has to speak for itself.

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:
I agree...when I find myself trying to stretch my hair, I know I'm just not there yet!

BTW, i voted that the back has to reach the point. Preferably, for BSL on me, I want my hair covering the brastrap (no stretching).

Very interesting thread/results. I'm happy to see the majority agree with the back being goal and the front being near goal. I used to be a die hard "it's got be all WSL". Now, 2 years into it, I've softened my realistic expectations a bit.

When the back or all hair reaches the goal.
That 3 strands touching rule doesn't fly with me. I've seen some women who think they're bra strap because of 3 strands, but they're really a nice full APL... :spinning:

Edited to add: hiking your brastrap up to right under your arms does not make your hair bra strap length either! Ok, I'm done.

Since the top and sides of my hair tend to keep up with the back, I will consider myself at goal (next one for me is WL) when 90% of my hair is about 1 inch past...'cuz I plan to do a 1-inch trim.:grin:

My hair is different lengths and grows at different rates so I chose when the back reaches the length. I do agree that it should be more than 3 strands!!:spinning:

When the back reaches it, and the rest flow with way the hair is styled! In other words, unless there is no mullet!:lachen:

I have five goals (first one being a very blunt and thick shoulder length). My ends can NOT be see thru, it must maintain the same thickness from roots to ends and my hair must be very blunt. :yep: This applies to all of my hair goals (SL/APL/BSL/MBL/HL) which is gonna take some time :yawn: but it will happen.

Hair naturally grows in layers so I will be just fine if just the back reaches my goals.

Whew...I see I'm not alone in my thinking! The one to three strands touching APL, BSL etc. is what really gets on my nerves even more than hiking the bra strap or tilting the neck back. :ohwell:

When my back layers reach my goal line is when i consider my length goal met. My hair is layered and I plan to keep it that way so my mid and front layers will alwys bea it shorter.. The comment that mentioned people holding their head back and shortening their bra straps was hilarious!!! No no no ladies.....that is not an honest length check!!:lachen:

For me its when he back hits and passes the goal, only because my hair is layered and will remained layered forever!

I love layers!:love::cupidarrow::giveheart:
:lachen:

i'll be done when i no longer care about my hair growth. my hair has always been about 2 inches past shoulder length, never been past that. I know my hair can grow, but i've never been able to maintain it to where it gets past that length. When it FINALLY gets past that length my goal will be met..i'll know my hair can grow past that lol

i voted for the back; i did my own BC and i *think* it is uneven in some spots, and i wont know what its looking like till i flat iron. i know i can measure the back easily though.

...thats not to say i wont be jumping for joy when i have a few strands touching APL/BSL. :look:

When my hair is 100% natural and 100% healthy and I am armpit length unstretched at the back and collarbone at the front:grin:

No cheating allowed-- ALL hair must reach the goal (although I'm not sure what the goal is right now). But I do know that I have a long ways to go before I reach it.

It would be great if my sides and the back of my hair all reached my goal length (BSL) at the same time, but I think that the back of my hair will reach it first so that is when I will claim it.
