Curl Junkie Smoothing Lotion on dry hair. As a leave in the stuff is crap, but as a moisturizer...NICE! :yep:.

I hated it as a leave-in as well. It left my hair feeling a bit dry and looking dull. I didn't even think to try it as a moisturizer! I wish I had before I got rid of it!

So far my hits are:

SD RCA. It's the best thing since Ben and Jerry. Name your favorite flavor and its better than that. I need to wash but I still have soft hair. No cones, mucho slip, ceramides, raspberries. If it got better I might have to eat it.

Ceramide oils. I've used them in the past as prepoos, but they make my hair hard so I make a bottled mixture for my dry hair. It had avocado, apricot, rice bran, safflower and a few others I cannot remember. I use it after my rollerset and my ends have been thanking me since. This oil mix has me rethinking cutting my ends the end of the year. They don't look as thin as I thought they did...

Please excuse my iPhone; it's trying to get it together

Re-visited Tresemme naturals on my texturized hair (natural hair didn't feel it). It's definitely a hit. I've been able to Cowash soo much more often :)

ETA: also, adding a bit of ACV to my dc! Softened hair tremendously.

HIT ST wrappers delight. Great refresher. It did a great job keeping my hair moisturized during this weeks heat wave.

MISS ST sorrel kink drink. Not moisturizing enough for my hair.

curlyhersheygirl The wrappers delight is one of my top spritz..Love,Love this..Talk about moisture & detangle hair..Feels good on the scalp too..

Sorrel is nice as a pre or on soaking wet hair, right before you add a moisture cream, unlike the wrappers delight,it doesn't moisture on its own,but it's good as a pre/scalp treatment.

Happy Hair Growing!

My hits for the month of July thus far are:

SSI Riche Moisture Masque
HTN Follicle Mist
Microfiber hair wrap turbans from Target
DIY steaming method
Rooibos tea

Misses:
Claudie's Hair Tea Spritz- the scent is too strong! I'm getting ready to dump the whole bottle into my tea blend mix I made earlier this week. Hopefully, the dilution will weaken the scent.

Jury is still out on SSI Okra Hair Repair and Tahitian Vanilla and Coconut leave in.

xu93texas did you get it unscented?

Continued hit: simple-less-than-10-minute regimen

Oil scalp 1/2 hour before shower
Rinse with diluted ACV
Condition while taking a shower
Wash out, apply leave in and tea spray
Blow dry

Hopeful future hit: making my own natural leave in spray and rinse out conditioner. I think between lhcf and the rest of the internet I can do it right... hopefully the first time.

Lita Thanks for the tip; I'll try it as you suggested :yep:

As I Am Coconut Cowash -- tried it for the first time last night and was very pleased. Hair felt clean but not stripped. I followed up with my regular cowash conditioner for hydration.

divachyk Do you put the as I am cowash on your scalp also? I've used it three times and I love it for my hair but my scalp is always itchy and gunky even though I don't have any buildup before washing.

myronnie, I placed it on my hair - roots to tip - and massaged it in my scalp. Sorry it didn't work for you. I rinsed my hair several times thereafter so if there was buildup, it would have washed away without me knowing. How many times do you rinse after using the cowash?

Thanks divachyk!! I rinsed ALOT after using it..maybe for like a good 4 minutes and made sure to directly rinse my scalp. I'm thinking I had an allergic reaction or something to it because my scalp was really itchy and hot afterwards.

HIT: Renewing Argan Oil Conditioner by Organix (sp?)

Just a few minutes on my head and my hair is invincible to tangles. Definitely one of my new staples!

Continued Hits:
- Live Clean Argan Oil Leave-In Spray: with this all I do is spritz in-between co-washes. I don't even need to seal it in for good all day moisture.
- Curl Junkie Curl Rehab: will be in my life forever
- Curl Junkie Smoothing Lotion: use to detangle and co-wash; my hair just detangles itself once I put this on. Will be a staple if it comes in larger sizes and at discounted rates. A treat for now.
- PBN Murumuru Moisture Milk: love the moisture, hate the greasiness. On the fence.

HIT
Henna Sooq's Sweet Honey Nourisher
I used this on my dry relaxed hair a while back and hated it. :nono:
Tried it again yesterday on wet, natural hair, sat under the heat cap for 30 min. and it was perfection for my curls.. I'm ordering another jar.

Miss - Zen hair and detox mask
Last night I used the Zen detox for hair and scalp. This product did NOT mix well at all. The clay was very lumpy and even as I kept adding water to it it was still difficult to get out all of the clumps, I figured it would have been much easier and smoother to mix. I applied it to my scalp and new growth only. I left it on for at least 1 hour and I didn't feel any pulling or detoxing sensation like I anticipated. I was thinking it would be a similar sensation to the Aztec healing clay mask that I use on my face. The Zen mask didn't even dry. There was clumps on my scalp. I don't really look forward to using this again. I thought the clay mask would dry up and as it dried I'd feel the 'pulling' sensation on my scalp.. I did not experience any of that at all.

Hit & Miss

AS I am twist defining cream and curling jelly. Both give great definition, keeps hair moisturized and has a nice medium hold so my hair had lots of movement. The huge downside is after the first day it leaves flakes in my hair even though I didn't reapply and regardless of how much I used.

Hit:
4 naturals curly wave serum. Does way more than i expected it to - detangles, defines and holds curls, moisturizes. I think this will be a staple

Hits:
Oyin Handmade Burnt Sugar Pomade, hair dew, sugar berries pomade and juices and berries

Miss:
Combing my hair, especially when it's wet as it creates single strand knots

HV ph rinse ( I love this, definitely helping my hair lay smooth, I'm seeing the differences after 4 uses!!)

Revisited Hit:

Silk Dreams Vanilla Silk.....Its the best, the other SD Condishes are good, but NOTHIN' beats it in my opinion (Keep in mind that I haven't tried the Shea What or Shea WHat Deux yet lol)

SSI Avocado Conditioner....Still the Bomb.com for slip/moisture. I used it last night to cowash and boy oh boy is my hair loving me for it.

SSI Tahatian Vanilla Moisture Mist......Still Delicious!

Miss:

Using almost a third of the SSI Avocado Condish. I'm a bit heavy handed
