So, I love hair stuff. Don't get me wrong. I love it.
I just don't buy it anymore because I have most of the ingredients in the basement.
So I thought I might treat myself to something long lasting and moisturizing all in one product.

I wanted this thread to be about suggestions or to just say what is that one product that works great for your hair and pockets.

The last product that did it all for me was curls whipped

I used it on my hair, scalp, everything. But its $17.00 and I kill that jar in like a month :ohwell:

I need something that I don't have to be so heavy handed with...

So anyways what product was your best investment and why?

Alter Ego Garlic Treatment $30 (35 oz) - The product has a nice scent with incredible slip, even at the late stages of a relaxer stretch. The result was well moisturized, yet stronger hair.

Sent from my Toshiba Thrive

My best investment has been one of the cheapest - aloe vera juice !!!!!

I cant stop singing its praises .... totally eliminated my dry knotty SSK prone ends and is responsible for my being back on the retention train.

I really think it even improves the effect of products on my hair.

In terms of formulated products - SD destination hydration left my hair so incredibly soft that Im actually scared to try the VS which Im reading is even more moisturizing .... like I think its gonna literally blow my mind lololol

wave nouveau moisturizing mist and suave almond and shea butter. these were life savers. now i finally have a good dc and that is SE mega moisturizing treatment in that jar. these are very good product investments for me and are very cost effective.

WN is the one product i found that didn't leave a coating or sticky film. it keeps my new growth moisturized and soft!

Dye.....it opened up my low porosity cuticles and now I can use moisturizer effectively

I would say my 1L bottle of Oyin Hair Dew. It makes my hair soft and manageable. The pump makes it so easy to apply.

trigger oil.
i didnt buy it, a friend sent it to me but it has stopped my crazy shedding right in its tracks and im so excited. i was losing gulf ball size hair balls:nono: and i was certain i was gonna go bald. i started pre pooing with that oil and i swear i now lose like 5 hairs. i used to lose hairs in the shower and during styling. during styling now almost nothing comes out.

Aubrey Organics Glycogen Protein Balancing & Honeysuckle Rose Conditioners

I needed higher quality conditioners because the cheapies just weren't cutting it any longer. I'm finally over the APL hump, have decreased shedding, and healthier hair.

BONUS: My steamer was also a great investment. It's a year later, and she is still working wonders for me.

Coconut oil! It has never done me wrong. It keeps my hair strong and can be used to seal in moisture or as a pre-treatment before shampooing.

chebaby u took the words outta my mouth. I need to get some more for myself and some for my sister. I love the scent and love how my hair feels after I use it!

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

its the best oil ever. before this i NEVER oiled my scalp and im not an oil person but i had to try something because i just knew i was gonna be a bald 25 year old:nono:i was praying over my hair and everything because i was so afraid that i was losing my hair after taking such good care of it.

My solia flat iron and blow dryer, plus the comb attachment. They've already paid for themselves in money saved at the salon.

Sent from my HTC Evo

Wen because shampooing my hair I use to dread doing it because the amount of hair I would lose and the combing was smooth either, now even when I 9 weeks post combing is a breeze, looking forward to purchasing a steamer tho and the split ender also. I thought it was bs at first because you don't get a blunt cut but it's not about even it's about getting rid of the splits. If I keep up with the blunt cutting everytime it gets uneven I will stay the same length

Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia and Hair Nectar. My hair feels so soft when I use it as a leave in. I will repurchase (hopefully at a hair show).

Ditto on coconut oil. :yep:

I just bought shea butter and so far so good.

I'll have to give aloe vera juice a try. I may save that for when I'm completely natural though.

Africas best herbal oil. it made every moisturizer, leave in, dc and grease that was no good, work for me.

I was just going to say this! I love my AO HSR and GPB! I have a million conditioners etc but those are the two I reach for every day!

I also am loving Emu oil, peppermint oil and tea tree oil for my scalp.

Butchaknow, if it works well for you and you are in love with it, $17 a month isn't too bad. I remember how much I liked Aveda's Damage Remedy products, but a 16oz. was $64. I had to holla at them. :wavey:

My blow dryer. It's one of the reasons why I've yet to experience severe SSKs and I can manage my shrinkage a lot better. I was terrified of the heat damage that I thought I would experience, but there hasn't been any. This was the most expensive thing I've ever purchased for my hair (and it was still fairly inexpensive).
Also, finding inexpensive products that work has been great for me. I'm broke so I can't spend too much money on investments :/

I can't narrow it down to one. I'd say Wen, my SplitEnder, and my oils.

Wen is worth Every Penny! I've never had such amazing hair days before I started using Wen. Wen is hair happiness in a bottle.

My SplitEnder...again, worth Every Penny! I have No reason to step foot in a salon now, and I love it! And my hair always feels so healthy after I use it.

My oil collection is very large...there's the essential oils, and the regular oils & butters. Cannot say enough about how these oils have been so good for my boys skin and hair, as well as mine. The day I stopped using J&J, and started using Shea & Coconut oil was one of the best moves I made for them...and still continues to benefit them in every way. And anyone else I make something for!

Best appliance: Steamer
Best products: Deep conditioners from Silk Dreams and Camille Rose. Moisturizers from Claudie, butters from Hairitage. Organic honey. :lick:
