My friend said she's gonna cut my hair off

I dunno, i think she was just kidding. I much prefer when the person is real about their envy instead of the 'you look better with short hair' or 'this hair doesn't suit you' sentiments people throw around. I think it was a joke, I mean who really cuts off someone's hair??

Gotta disagree...Have YOU ever told someone you were gonna cut off their hair? I haven't! Who murders people? Murderers!

no i haven't but if you all are friends why would it be serious?
I think she was playing

Hmm, I used to be the type to give folks another chance.

But sometimes that turns into giving them another chance to "hurt" me with words, deeds or whateva.

So lately, when a person "jokingly" shows me their true colors. First - I believe them. Second - I run!

So in this case, I would say "RUN!"

But that's just my little opinion.

Haven't even read your post but based off the title - you need new friends!

*off to read what in the fockery...*

She may not 'actually' act on her 'threat' however your hair turns a part of her green with envy:yep: I'd say just don't flaunt it in her presence (no detangling, no whipping, no getting it caught in your mouth or purse strap, no thinking it's a bug crawling up your arm etc..:nono:)

I get what you are saying but it made me really uncomfortable. Especially since it was so random.

...your friend needs to GTFO

stop detangling at her house (why are you doing that anyways? Do your hair at home)

Also stop this friendship (but that's just me).

word. my bff has ALWAYS had the cutest, teeniest little waist. i never told her that i cant stand her and that im going to make her gain weight cause i dont have a little waist like hers!!

im telling you, there is ALWAYS some truth behind a thinly veiled joke.

I've had a "friend" say something very similar to me. This same friend told my boss I was makin eyes at her husband. And never apologized. I keep it very topical with her now since we work together. I don't trust "friends" that make off the wall comments. Besides...your friend didn't smile and she said it in the serial killer monotone voice. I say, KIM girl. Unless you're prepared to run her a$$ over a few dozen times...

I can do my hair where I want. I shouldn't have to be confined. That's like saying I can't show my length in public. I didn't think it was a big deal since I was already detangling at home and went to help her with her computer and we've been friends for years.

This is the truth...the best comedians use the 'truth' to give us the BEST laughs:yep:

I don't know what to say about this one. I'd be inclined to think it was just a joke since you two have been friends for so long, but then again you never know. Maybe you should talk with her and let her know how uncomfortable you were with her comment.

There is always a bit of truth to every joke, I agree with that. But the fact that she's envious of your hair is the truth, not that she is going to hack your hair off ...JMO
Let's be honest, the ladies of LHCF do tend to have hair that is envied be others..

I mean I REALLY doubt your friend would cut your hair. But don't be naive and think that she isn't just a teensy bit jealous, just a bit.

I remember when my friend embarrassed me out somewhere with her little comment, it was to disguise how she felt about her own hair but like I said she came around. But I know that she'd never do anything to me.

I find those kind of women/people boring because they are so predictable, in a negative way. Unfortunately I don't hide my boredom anymore. Usually they go from being envious to feeling guilty and absolutely loving you and looking for you, and you have to stay there and limit your joy, happiness and achievements in order to not make them feel inadequate. They are envious and then they hate having been envious, they love you but as long as you are not at your best. And so on. I've seen many and I think I have no patience anymore because of that.

YOOOOOOOOOOOO chick at my job!!!!! She has long pretty hair, AND it's relaxed yet has both length and thickness. Granted it's not as thick as mine cause she relaxes it but it's pretty impressive. When I first saw her I was drooling over her hair.

Lo and behold...would you know she was one of the first ones trying to tell someone the only reason my hair is how it is, is because I'm mixed?? I was like WHOA HEFFEN!!!!!!!! So how the hell is your hair this long!?!? And this girl is cute!! Cute little shape, dresses nice and still...had a little hateration moment.

Once I cussed her out :lachen: we got REALLY cool. I suggested some products for her hair cause she said the ends were breaking.

Sooo.. does she pick cotton for a living?? Cuz if she said that like that, she sound like a damn slave

You have more patience than I, women really need to get less competitive. But yeah sometimes people behave like that until they get to know you and they feel sort of "reassured". The pressure they feel becomes unexistent and sometimes you can even become friends.

You saw the part where I cussed her out right?? :lachen: That's all I need, to tell off someone really good until they stop acting stupid. Then we can be cool.

But if they're really on some stupid stuff then I really can't be bothered. I am NOT captain save a h*e, God did not put me on this earth to reassure every single insecure person. I have a day job and a million hobbies that I don't even have time for.

But when I tell you this girl has nice long hair, I wanted to tell her to come to this board! She would learn so much more.

Yea I get you but the comment was so off the wall it made me uncomfortable.

Yeah that was random, I felt the same way when my friend let out her snark. It's like....well where the hell did that come from?? Hopefully she's done showing her green eyed monster.

Yep. This reminds me back in Jr High in '80s and early '90s when girls with long hair who dared wear it out would would get "jumped" by a group of jealous balding hoes and get their hair cut off. SMDH. I never wore my hair out until I got to high school.

There are some crazy, psycho, ill people out there. I would watch my back.
