I am a flat iron fanatic! I currently own a CHI, FHI, Sedu, Solia, HAI, and Babyliss. Though I love them all I will say that I use my FHI irons for pressing my hair out. Honestly all of them can press pretty well except for the CHI iron.. don't get me wrong.. I love the CHI- but for curling.. not straightening (it seems to not clamp down at tightly as the others)

Oh yeah, that's FHI Platform.. the FHI Technique is cool.. but I never use it to press, just to curl.

I chose OTHER I loveeeeeeeeeee my HANAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I've tried Hai and sold that sucker on ebay my hair rofl at that thing

Hana elite hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA: The first big time flat iron I purchased was a Sedu (thanks Charz), but it never really got my hair super straight. The hana elite on the other hand is excellent:) It gets my 4a/b hair relaxer straight when I choose to wear it like that.

Dag - didn't even know there were that many options. Most of these I've never heard of and some not until recently while visiting LHCF. I was trying to choose between a Croc and a Maxiglide but now I just don't know. I have a WIGO (spent about $75 for it on sale at Ulta about 5 years ago) and I thought it must be good cuz of the price. No one mentioned using it =( I may try the iron I have again but use a great moisturizing deep conditioner and the techniques I'm learning on the board to see if I get great results.

Silenttulip,

I just purchased the Hana Professional but since I'm in all of the no heat challenges, I won't be using it on myself for a while...I am going to straighten my mom's hair tonight and probably post pics, though! I am so excited about it!

I wanted the Elite but opted for the Professional...I guess my hair is 4a/3c, so I'm hoping that the Professional will do the job...But please believe that part of my income tax check will go towards the Elite, lol!

People are really sleeping on the Hana line...:yep:

wow, i'm happy someone bumped this thread, I'm in need of a new flat iron, my Andis snags my hair and I hate it. I've been looking at Sedu, CHI and FHI, so but I think I'm going to get the Sedu.

I used my Hana Professional on my mom last night and I absolutely love it! Attached are a few pics and I have more in my fotki...Ladies, if you are thinking about an iron, you might want to keep this one as an option, lol.

Janet, you aren't lying! People are sleeping on the Hana line. You'll like the results. I'm in a no heat challenge too girl! *I used a blasted heat pass in order to try the iron:grin:*

ETA: Janet, from what I've seen, the Hana pro gives you very similar results! Great purchase!

Thanks Janet' for the pics.
I'm still unsure about which flat iron to by but here are some of my requirements:
ceramic
1''
temp display
silicone strip *

*Not sure many irons have this but I'd like to have one.
This decision is tough for me...

The Hana Professional is tourmalene/ceramic; the Hana Elite is 100% ceramic plates. www.hanasalon.com

HTH!

Im confused.....
I had a chi it was aight but I found my hair didn't come out that straight and I didn't like that it had a fixed temp control.
So now im thinking about the sedu or fhi runway?
Now I look at Janet's postings and about to go do research on the hana.
Im so confused :perplexed

I replied to this when this thread was new---since then I have added the Hana Elite and Professional to my arsenal---LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hana Elite. The Professional is alot like the Sedu to me, so I don't mind it at all--I still love my Sedu actually. However, the Hana Elite please don't sleep on it--especially since the FHI Runway has been discontinued by FHI. When I do get the courage to straighten again, I will be using the Hana Elite.

Ive tried the chi and I liked it until I broke down and sprung for a GHD... I a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y love it!!! Salon results at home and no burnt hair smell or breakage. Its worth the Shocking price in my opinion : )
