Shea Butter is my baby's daddy. NO, seriously. If you haven't tried this...

today I was at the salon (once again, not getting my hair done, but just hanging out with a friend who is a stylist) when this girl came up and stuck her hands in my braid out. She was like "...this feels like weave hair. It's so bouncy and soft." I told her and I will tell anyone else, the only thing I put in my hair after washing and deep conditioning is shea buter.

I thought it was avocado, but after whipping some shea butter with red palm oil shea wins hands down. My hair feels so silky. Next I want to try murumuru, cupuacu, and mowrah butters.

I love shea butter because when I put it on my hair (sometimes mixed with some kind of oil or just in Cantu Sheabutter break cure) before I straigthen it, it comes out shiny and soft like silk. Plus I can use it as much as I want and my hair doesnt get greasy or feel too coated or heavy.
But I would have had mango butter second place because when I put it on my ends and edges overnight I wake up and theyre silky, but I cant use too much..

Unfortunately when I use either of these with other products (gel, lotions, water) I get these little white beads in my hair...

Where do I get avocado butter?
I have never heard of this in stores, do I have to order it offline? It looks like everyone likes it..

Can these butters be used on pressed hair as a pomade, or is it better to use them after the hair has been washed and conditioned? I don't want my hair to revert.

Shea and hemp seed both work well on my hair but I like the smell of the shea better. They both make my hair shiny. The hemp seed softens better but also can make my hair oiler faster. I haven't used either in a while but when I did, I would use the Shea when wearing my hair straight and the hemp seed when wearing it in a wash-n-go.

I love Shea butter, even though I don't like the smell:ohwell: , tha's why I only use it on hair not on my skin
I use it as a prepoo overnight

I use unrefined shea butter, my hair is sooo soft after my shampoo

I 've never used the other butters

I voted for avocado, but I love hempseed also. It's hard to chose a fav. If money were no object, then I would always have avocado, hempseed, shealoe, olive, and mango.

Yes, I've used them on pressed hair. They keep my ends protected after pressing. I do not use them to press my hair though, because they are pure there is nothing in them for heat protection.

I LOOOOOVE Avocado butter. :p My strands feel so "plump" whenever i use it. I get mine at oilsbynature.com.

Thanks for your response. I'll keep these butters in mind when I use up my current items.

Hemp seed and Avocado definitely. I am trying avocado tonight and seal it with a little kera care oil so I'll let you guys know how my rollerset turns out. I had never heard of Wheat Germ butter but that sounds awesome too!
