I don't think it's wise to ever assume meeting certain people is a big deal. Some men introduce women to everybody. I'd go and have fun without reading much into it.

However, why haven't you already met the friends? Are they just too far away?

The wedding is in August, lol. I'm sure I'll meet them before then.
