What kind of stability/career would that vet in the long run though? Translatable skills?
Most DJ's are independent so then you gotta worry about taxes, SS, unemployment and health insurance.
It is not a guaranteed paycheck (hard to make a budget around) and I really see it as a dying craft. I mean everyone has access to music now so you set up a digital dj and save 100's of dollars.
And it may be ok in your 20's but can I really see my husband dj'ing until he hits 65 and retires? lol.
A select few will be hugely successful but most need to just keep it as a side gig.
