Umm yeah lol depending on how they were paying me of course xD I don't take hair commercials as literal ever, I mean they have women with lace fronts on advertising shampoos and relaxers =P lol

I was like why would I or anybody want ot do that? But I didn't read the post until after I voted. Then I can see why there were folks who would. I wouldn't purposely lie about their products helping but I however would try to find something in their line that did work for me. Then again it's hard for me to be into or passionate about some lame hair product for money cause for us LHCF folks we know how agitated we get when some hair products are geared toward us who want hair and the product is an expensive useless product just promising us the very best. I can't be apart of that. I don't love some lines of product but they may have one really good thing and if the company doesn't mind me letting them know what "I" use then cool. If they want ot me to bend the rules then thats not good to me. The money may look real nice but it may be just as nice from a company who's product DOES work, so....

Before Liya Kebede really hit it big for years she was on the Fabulaxer box. Someone who ran in the same circles as her back in Addis now living in DC were having lunch after lunch I needed something from the Drug Store I walk over to the hair care aisle and my friend was like Oh you see thats Liya. She called her LiLi See she is modeling.

She is hocking Perm hahahaha like she really need it. I was like well she has bills to pay

My friend was like I hate false advertisment. Her hair is almost bone straight in school we had to braid it up and take it out to get the what we say back home Frizz look

I was like oh okay When I saw her up close at and Ethiopian fundraiser in NY yep my friend was right

I would, as long as it was a television or print ad. I couldn't go around lying to people's faces about it.

You'll get a little money up front , but in the end the money will not benefit you. It's short-term gain.

I'm a business woman also and that's just bad business sense!
I'm looking for long-term gain.

It's like if everyone jumped off a bridge would you? Just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it right. If you can put your integrity aside to make a buck then you'll do ANYTHING to make a buck. If you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything.

in the 80's when the curl was big, I ran into a hair model who was on a jheri curl box. She was a 3bc natural. She gave me her agent's card and told me I could make the big bucks. Turns out that most of the hair models for curls did not use the product. I never called the agent but the promise of money did tempt me...

I was a paid hair model, and I never thought of it as endorsing the company it is just a picture to advertise a product. If you get a hair modeling job, you can get hair services by fancy celebrity hair stylist that are unaffordable to most. It didn't make me wealthy, but my hair cut looked good. I have done both informercials and print, in both cases, I didn't even know the name of the product before the job, or after.

I think that it is bad to give a dishonest product review, I didn't even know people looked at the print ad and thought the model used the product. Wow.

I couldn't do it. At least not lie about a product 'making my hair grow' or some foolishness like that. Now if a company that I have lukewarm feelings or complete disdain for like CD or MJ, I'd bite. I would only do it if I was just selling the products and not making outrageous claims.

No. Money doesn't rule me, and I can't be bought. I also could never knowingly harm someone else for money. How do you look yourself in the face after doing that? It's not worth it...

I'd gladly be a model or spokesperson for any reputable hair product. I wouldn't rep products that made outrageous claims. Example - vitamins or special hair potion that claims to make your hair grow 6 inches in a month, or the all natural permanent hair straightener. Note that companies who promote such products aren't reputable.
