Will be on the News tomorrow! Natural or Wig?

Hey Everyone!
My daughter and I won a city wide challenge as a result they want us to be on TV tomorrow. I just got the e-mail..... I am newly BC and am not sure I am ready to share with the world my BC. Should I go for the wig or should I sport my BC?

Okay why am I doubting?? Well I live in a majority white area and many of us do not sport the natural thing. I just do not want to get on air and make "us" look bad.

Anyway, I did my DD hair really cute in beads in front with a pony tail in back too cute. But for me.. Oh my!!!

You know we are going to wear matching outfits! So let me know your thoughts! Thanks...

do whatever you feel most comfortable in....personally i couldnt wear my hair with proper pride when i first BC'd - i was still adjusting.....but if you got the confidence, go ahead and do it!

I say wear it natural. But I'm biased.

Do what you feel most comfortable with. You don't have to represent all of blackdom tomorrow. So don't pressure yourself too much (whatever you decide to do).

Do what makes you feel confident. Its hard enough being on tv without worrying about something like that. Not saying you shouldn't be proud of your fro, just saying that I know there's an adjustment period for some of us (myself included).

Girl go natural, u need to show that our natural hair is as 'normal' and beautiful as the many other relaxed heads that ur little girl and your community is so used to. Maybe when u watch yourself back you'll realise how beautiful your BC is - I know you'll be too cute - good luck!

I understand exactly what you're saying. I recently BC'd and currently only sport mines outside of work...for now...

IMHO, your BC is beautiful but you have to do what makes you feel comfortable/confident.

If that is what you are worried about, then have no fear.

Short, natural hair is nothing to be ashamed about.

The people who should be ashamed are those who still have that slave mentality!

Thanks everyone for the advice!! I went natural as that's what was the most votes and rocked the outfit! I haven't seen the copy of the video yet but but everyone said that I looked real good. Although I got asked a couple of times where I was from, when I told them Kansas I got a humm okay response. I think they were guessing that I was from a location in Africa but I proudly said nope I'm from here.

Also those whom were interviewing after me complimented me on my presentation and that I looked "natural" on camera.

So hopefully I can encourage the other black women in the area who have thought about going natural to make it happen. As someone said I am here to show everyone that all black people on TV at least locally don't have to have straight hair...
