Last nite, the hubby's friend was over and he asked me what was I gonna to do my hair when I take my braids down? I asked him what did he mean. He says you're gonna relax it right? I said no I'm not. He says If you were my wife you would have to change your hair for me because I couldn't be seen with you in public. I told him "Well Thank GOD for small favors as I'm not your wife and no man is gonna tell how to wear what grows out of my head" He told hubby he didn't see how he could stand my nappy hair. He said he likes a woman with long straight neat hair. The nerve of some. I got up and went in my room before I called everything but a child of GOD

I mean, there are plenty of threads around here on the same topic - where women are doing something/not doing something based largely on the impression it will give the men around them - so it's not like he was coming from so utterly off-base place.
!! I wish a man would say some ish like that to me! The only person I even remotely did my hair for was my grandmother this Christmas, because it's also her birthday. She can't stand "out" hair, and I was rockin a full blown 12 inch afro. I twisted it for her. She's the ONLY one. And I'm glad you told him what's what. I'll bet you anything he and his wife have had a conversation about her hair recently. These things do not come out unprovoked.
