I used an egg yolk and some mayo on my hair the other evening and it made my hair hard as rock. I had to put some cholesterol on it in order to get it soft again. I was disappointed I had such a crappy outcome.

I use mayonnaise (which is basically eggs, oils, and vinegar or lemon juice) in my hair as a protein treatment. And for my next treatment I'm going to add a dash of braggs liquid aminos, just for some extra strength ;).

I do an egg treatment weekly. My mixture contain one egg, whatever moisturizing conditioner & oils that I have on hand. I pre-poo with this for an hour, rinse, shampoo, dc with moisturizing co, rinse and apply leave in/moisturizer & seal with oil. Lately, I noticed that my hair is a lot thicker(don't know if it's from using the eggs weekly or not) and my fine strands really appreciate the thickness.

I used an egg mixed with regular conditioner and the results were absolutely amazing and by the way it does stop breakage dead in it's tracks!

I tried this today in my prepoo, because I had some breakage. It made my hair feel so thick.[/quote]

ITA with the bolded. I did an egg, evoo, honey and MT conditioner treatment this afternoon and I love how my hair turned out, strong and thick like. I will definitely do this again maybe minus the egg white:yep:.

I just did my first egg treatment today! Woo hoo! I mixed 2 eggs with my Mizani conditioner and sat under the dryer for 15 minutes. I followed with a DC of the same conditioner mixed with EVOO. Hair feels good and really thick.

I mixed an egg yolk in with my silicon mix, black castor oil, aloe vera ..hy hair came out so unbelievably yummy. I plan on doing this treatment bi-weekly once these twists come out

I like what it does for my hair. Thickness, strength, healthy hair ends. I think it helps with length retention as well.

I saw someone suggest and 2eggs/n a lil oil, pre-poo, I'm going to CW then egg it, the poo, deep CON......wanna know how the eggs are working....

I just did a treatment tonight, and my hair feels soooooo good! I posted a recipe earlier on my Giving Back to the Boards thread. It's the Banana/Avocado conditioner. You may want to give that a shot if you're interested.

The one I did tonight was a concoction of Organics Mayonaise Conditioner, Olive Oil, Castor Oil and one egg. I kept it in my hair for two hours and when I rinsed it out...man it felt good! :yep:

i tried this last night and it was horrible. its so freakin hot in my state that the cold water was hot! i guess i should've checked the temperature before i did it lol. i was picking out small pieces of white, but it was all good.

I have used just the yolk directly on my scalp...it worked great, my hair was really shiny...think I will do it again next week!! lol

  And the egg didn't cook in your hair????

Yes and I love it. I'm protein sensitive, so I don't add mayonnaise, I don't use the egg white and I don't add conditioners with protein.

My hair loves this coconction:
1 part egg yolk + 2 parts PROTEIN FREE moisturizing (cheap) conditioner + a tablespoon of olive oil.

If I do it after shampooing it (instead of pre-pooing with it) it really helps with frizz and I get shiny, strong hair. It adds some sort of weight as well.

I do for my protein treatment. I mixed 1 egg w/mayo and add 2 - 3 drops of rosemary oil. I then let that sit in my hair for about 1 hour, then I rinse out with luke water; this way the egg won't cook in my hair. I then do 1 wash through w/shampoo and proceed to my deep conditioner. This method makes my hair really strong. I used to do it once a month, but now I cut down to 6 -8 weeks.

I always wondered what does the yolk do for the hair. I know the egg white has the protein. But what benefit does the yolk have? Because I don't know, I use both...

I was curious as well and apparently the yolk is the part that has all the omega fatty acids, vitamins (A, E, D, K, B) , it is a very concentrated source of biotin and it has copper, manganese, selenium, calcium, iron, folate, sulfur, cholesterol... Basically, everything but the protein part (for this reason egg whites are eaten by people who are on a low fat, high protein diet).

I like it because because of that "film forming" property that it seems to have on hair as well...

I just did an egg treatment last firday. I mixed 3 eggs with conditioner and then dried it with a blow dryer on low heat....so you can say that I was cooking an egg in my hair lol. Then followed with a conditoner, rinsed, and I had less shedding. I think I may do this once a week.

I stopped using eggs because they were leaving visible residue in my hair. Cannot have that. I may revisit them see if I devise a way to get all of the egg out.
