Who said you can't rollerset 4a/b hair?!?!

Poohbear

Fearfully Wonderfully Made
Well I just did! And I love it!

I washed, conditioned, and put my hair into big twists after washing. I had my mom rollerset my hair last night with Lotta Body Setting Lotion. I sat under the dryer for an hour and a half. This morning, I took the rollers out and separated the curls with my fingers. I didn't want to comb them out so I just left the curls tight. By the way, my natural hair is 8 inches long stretched.

Rollersetting is a keeper in my book! And it wasn't hard for my mom to do at all. It took her less than an hour to rollerset my hair. If only I had the patience to rollerset my own hair. I'll just let her do it every 1-2 weeks.

This looks gorgeous!!

i gotta ask though....what type of dryer did you use?

i'm sooooooo disappointed with my 1st attempt at a roller set. i bought a vidal sassoon ionic soft bonnet and it just didn't seem to dry fast enough for me or even enough.

what size and type rollers did you use?

i prolly self-defeated myself especially with the size of the rollers (too small) but i'm just not feeling the uneven drying times either.

boo-hoo :perplexed

Poohbear you are too cute. Your hair looks great! I love those fluffy curls! I bet it's a nice change for you too. It's fun to change things up every once in a while.

Thank you!

I used a Gold N Hot Hooded Dryer on medium heat for an hour and a half. Btw, your hair is longer than mine and most of your hair is relaxed so it may take the relaxed part longer to dry. This is what happened to me back when I was transitioning 2 years ago. My new growth would dry fast. Now that I'm natural, it dried even all over since it's the same texture.

I'm not sure what size the rollers are, they are the pink rollers with the snap on covers, whatever you call them.

Thanks Ayeshia!

I also forgot to mention that I used Got2b Crazy Sleek Hot Smooth Lotion that my sister gave me on my twists before my mom proceeded to spray the Lotta body lotion on each section of my hair and rollerset it. ;)

Nice set & curls I like you need to learn how to do a set as well. When I learn ain't nobody gonna be able to tell me nothing. :)

Thanks! Well, I knew how to rollerset my hair when it was relaxed, but now that am am natural, I will need to practice for myself. I know one problem I will have will be putting my hair around the roller. My natural hair likes to shrink 75% of its length when wet.

Your roller set came out beautiful...nice and healthy and shiny!!! I was in a rollerset thread yesterday and decided to do one last night...I left mine curly too!

Your hair looks so cute Poohbear. I think I'm really going to try to do a rollerset sometime during this winter--my hair is about the same length as yours so it should work for me. Thanks for the tutorial.
