braidouts are my everyday
lawd-i-don't-feel-like-being-bothered-with-this-stuff style of choice. twistouts don't really blend my textures as well as braidouts.
i'll do anywhere between 4-6 braids. 2-3 in front and 2 or 3 in back. sometimes instead of making vertical parts in the back (braids lay ontop of each other), i'll make them horizontal. i've got alot of natural wave so it really doesn't matter though.
wash, condish (or deep condish). rattail comb to make the sections. spray each section with elasta H2O, detangle with denman and braid it up. (eta, yall know it's the OTHER end of the rattail comb, right LOL).
one thing about the parts is i don't really try to make straight parts. that way when i unbraid, there's no part to cover up.
products used after that really varies. sometimes i'll just add a bit of oil on strands and a lil shea butter on the ends.
sometimes i'll use lottabody creme wrap as i braid (i like this alot) and lil shea butter on the ends.
at the end of the day i'll spray a bit of the H2O and lightly rebraid. i can do this for about 5 days before i feel like i want to wash again. i also find that after a few days my hair starts to straighten-out too much so rewashing is a necessity.
oh yea....i found out here the way i braid my hair is called french braiding when i thought i was actually normal braiding. my mom did it that way and i didn't know the difference until coming to the various hair boards. so now i switch up the directions from french-style to regular braid style and get a slightly different type of wave.
