What DON'T you do to your hair?

Re: What DON\'T you do to your hair?

Currently, I'm going without my blowdryer and for now have given up trying to fight humidity.

What does humidity cause your hair to do?

Re: What DON\'T you do to your hair?

I DON'T USE:

curling iron
blow dryer [every month or so only]
flat iron [never got the hang of it anyway]
cheap products
salon visits [I do my own hair]
laziness [I condition wash and moisturize my hair regularly]

Re: What DON\'T you do to your hair?

comb my natural hair when it is dry.
use hot irons or flat irons
put any product that has mineral oil or petroleum on it
no relaxers
no braids that require pulling on my edges
wait a week to add water to it
wear a wool hat

Re: What DON\'T you do to your hair?

not using heat myself (only the rare Dominican blowout)
no texturizers
no rough combing or brushing
limiting mineral oil & petrolatum (some of my fav deep conditioners have them)
avoiding water to preserve a hairstyle
no seamed combs

The curls drop and my ends get frizzy. However, I may have spoken too soon. I used a new product this week that helped. It's Joico Silk Result Instant Smoother. I used it on my ends before curling them with my curling iron and the curls lasted even though I went outside on a humid day. There was a little frizz but it still looked good.
