what do you want your wedding dress to look like???????

I feel you on this :yep:
We are kindred spirits indeed. I love Nigerian weddings  Pomp and circumstance, the production of it, all of it.

Have you noticed any Nigerian fashion designers that you like in particular?

*high five*
Nope, I didn't have any in mind, just a idea of what I wanted it to look like. My mother mentioned a few to me....I think she's already started planning IMO

Where did you see this...i think i just feel in Love

Sorry for the late reply - I was looking for a evening dres on ebay and came across this. It was a made in china, very inexpensive dress ($150-ish). I don't know about quality, but I could see myself using the design.

My dress will be red. I've already tried it on and it was perfect.its a 2 piece with a bolero jacket.

Its one of the few times I'll actually wear a dress in this lifetime:yep:

I'll have a birds nest veil, probably with red and peacock feathers.

When is your ceremony? :)
You know you have to post at least one pic...! :D
Red sounds beautiful.

Ceremony is December 2009. We are having a wedding ceremony(nothing legal mind you:look:) It'll be at one of our areas butterfly conservatories.
I decided on a dress because of SO's request Otherwise I would have wore some pants.:ohwell:

I tried on a ton of dresses before the last store I wen to the lady at the store told me that she knew just the dress for me. This one I found at Lelite in Boston. The dress is still with them because I do not want it hanging out here and they're going to send it out to be altered.

He has not seen it, dosen't want to see it, and has told me to not show him pictures of it. In that respect he's a little traditional.

I won't start having alteration fittings until Aug/Sept (in case I grow or lose something:look:)

This is close to the style of the dress though its also an Ian Stuart. The dress has a corset that has to be taken in (a lot) and the bottom has to be shortened so I don't trip all over the thing. The train is really super long though. I will likely not have a hoop on underneath because won't need it. The bolero is of the same silk material.

I do not know what kind of shoes I'll be wearing yet.

I like the way this color red looked against my skin. That was something that I didn't totally expect.

I'll never have a ceremony in white, so it was either this or black (my mother said NO BLACK:lachen:).

OMG that dress is a dream! :D
You'll look radiant in that dress... I wish you both the best in your upcoming ceremony!

One of the most striking dresses I have ever seen is the one that Grace wore on the episode of Will and Grace where she was about to marry Taye Diggs. One of the things that stuck out was the color - it was gold/maybe with a brown sash. I don't think 1 color family works for every person so I like the idea of a different colored gown.

I LOVE weddings. I'm actually studying to be a licensed wedding planner so I am always doing research. I have decided that I will wear a Jim Hjelm gown. I am just LOVING the lace! But this has to be my favorite of all time (along with the one I quoted)

Without trying it on, I think this is close to what I would want...

Hilarious. I opened this thread and already knew what dress I was gonna post... that one! :lachen: Isn't it beautiful? :lick: I'm a little busty so I'd have them close up the front. I could actually where a normal bra with it.

Jim Hjelm's spring 2008 collection. :yep:

this is nice!!!!

Gosh! I can't get over the new trend to have two dresses-one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Folks have a lot more money these days. I make and alter wedding gowns and it still blows my mind!
