The dress you fall in love with may not love you back when you go to try it on. You'd be surprized.

Nice dress though.

The dress on the hangar that you're not so sure about may be the dress you fall in love with you put it on.

My friend went bridal shopping (she's engaged) - tried on 7 dresses she thought were "it". Didn't like any of them. The consultant went in the back and picked out a dress. My friend sneered at it on the hangar, put it on, looked at herself in the mirror and started crying...

You just never know.

That last dress is very pretty...I think I might be too boobilicious for it to look "classy" on me though.

I like the look of strapless dress, but I don't want to tugging on it all night or popping out....I like the shape of mermaid skirt dresses, but I don't know what it would look like on.

Guess I will just have to wait until that day comes.

i know ladies but i love the style and i have always look good in strapless dreses. :yep:

I don't see any pics though ladies.:look:

Not sure what style but it will definitely have a halter style top. The halter strap will keep my "girls" in place and that style usually makes your waist look smaller especially when you have broader shoulders.

These are the styles I like :)

Embroidery, beadwork, and detailing are key for me.

Wish they had a pic of the rest of the gown- it's beautiful

Not detailed enough for me, but this one is close to one of the shapes I like.

Whilst working as a wedding planner, thats a question i usually ask the bride at her first consultation, what look does she want for her wedding in terms of theme, feel and attire. I get brides saying they want to be princessy and talk about big princess diana dresses, or i get the sleek and sexy fish tail ideas. But when they go and actually try on these dresses, i often reccomend that they try on a few different shapes, A - line, Fish tail, empire line, ball gown etc.. Just so she can get a rounded idea and 9 times out of 10 they end up getting the one they never saw themselves in... It makes me laugh every time, the point is, in my experience with brides will look at dresses in magazines and online but when you finally go to try dresses it on, it may be a total different story. Trust me the old saying is so true - "When you try your dress on you'll know its the one"

I think this dress is beautiful. It's an Elie Sabb. It's not a typical wedding dress but when I saw this on the red carpet I thought it would make a perfect wedding dress. I love the fact that it's tea-length.

I love the pick-up skirt in the photo above. It's similar to the dress that I want.

I can't find a picture of a form fitting non-white dress with long sleeves and no cleavage showing. Oh, and a train but not a long one.

I'm headed towards lace and vintage looking dresses..my mom's is such an inspiration and it wasn't a traditional obvious wedding gown..very flowy(sp?), loose, she had a nice blow out curl ish afro..ugh i wish i could put a pic of it up..but yea i'm not going the whole princess route..i'm freakin short i dont want to look like a marshmellow with a big puff at my waist lol

(If I ever even get close to a wedding) I want a.....

...off the shoulder mermaid gown for my Nigerian ceremony. I also want it made back home, I want a traditional dress w/ traditional fabric....I dread wearing the headpiece

.....full strapless ballroom gown for my American ceremony with beading and embroidery

.......sexy mermaid gown w/ straps for my reception with lace (I love Justin Alexander dresser)

I feel you on this :yep:
We are kindred spirits indeed. I love Nigerian weddings  Pomp and circumstance, the production of it, all of it.

Have you noticed any Nigerian fashion designers that you like in particular?
