To the people who mentioned that the best thing we as AA women can do is lead by example. You are absolutely right! That is why I have decided to transition. I will do the BC at the end of the year!!!:) This will be my second time around going natural.

Amen. Lead by Exapmle: There is no way a Tyra or Ophra-type person can preach and lecture me on being proud of my natural hair, when they themselves are afraid and ashamed to embrace and show the world theirs.

I agree. Most black celebs won't even show us their hair at all. It's all wigged and weaved up. This thread (and the DR thread) is encouraging me to put the flat iron away for a while. I LOVE my hair and my skin! (even with the kinks and blemishes!)
 
Thanks Poobear! You were defintely one of the people that influenced me to take the leap again. Before, I had no idea what the h311 I was doing with my natural hair. Now, thanks to LHCF and sistas like you, I am much more informed and more confident in my ability to care for my hair in its natural state. :D
