Can anyone explain the theory behind these two tips. Sounds interesting.
"I know a girl with hair down to her calfs. She says she puts 2 raw eggs with a little water in her hair once a week as a conditioner. Rinse out with cool water. (You don't want scrambled eggs!)."
"Homemade hair spray - dissolve 1 tablespoon of sugar into a glass of hot water. Let it cool. Use in a spray bottle."
The egg one I think is just similar to using a protein conditioner, so adds strength to the hair.
I don't know about the sugar spray but I am wondering wouldn't that make your hair sticky? The way to make a simple syrup for desserts is to dissolve sugar in hot water then cool. That gives something that's sticky like store syrup. Not sure I'd want that in my hair. And wouldn't it make you a hit with nectar-loving bugs like bees?
The sugar is used as you would use starch. When any food is crystalized with sugar it gets stiff. So when it is sprayed on hair and dries it get stiff, stiff hair like hair spray.
The Milk of Magnesia really does work. I used to use it many years ago, sometimes over my entire face and I always rinsed with cool water. I don't do it anymore because I only get a zit maybe 6 times a year now.
