tishee said:hi ladies,
My hair is giving me h***. I am back to square one and it is getting the best of me. This weekend I plan on sitting down and writing out a routine that I plan on following until our next check in. Something has got to give.
Off to bed ladies...this summer school is draining me![]()

HHG ladies!
hopeful said:Hang in there tishee. I hope things get better soon. I just hit my 3 month mark since my 2nd bc and this go round my hair is really showing it's personality. Last year when I was at this point with my first bc my crown was more wavy than coily. Well this time my crown is super coily and can hold braids and twists well and the back which was especially dry and kinky is showing more and more coils as well, although they are smaller and fewer. So just when I had excepted that I had all these texture variances (wavy crown/kinky back with lots of shrinkage) it is finally evening out a bit (coily crown and back). So I'm just saying hang in there, maybe your hair just needs a little more time to reveal itself. And once you find the right products and regimen, it will be on!![]()
BamaBelle said:Hey y'all.
I'm sad. I'm back to where I started when I began this challenge several months ago. I had a Dominican blowout for a wedding I was attending in mid-May only to find that I had dry ends in patches (over each ear, in the back near the nape, in the very front - just the very ends) and had my hair "trimmed" the next week. Well, the trim was really a cut but she still didn't get all of the dry ends. I ended up going to Ellin LaVar's salon here in NYC and the stylist cut me again (less than a month after the first cut and after deep conditioning and moisture surging overnight for over two weeks straight). My hair is very short now - about 2 inches again (like it was in February)! I'm so discouraged. On top of this, I now need to touch-up my relaxer/textlaxer because the ends that used to be on my hair were curly and gave some oomph to my style but now they're gone so I've got to get it together. Keep me in your thoughts.

I just BC'd today (second time around) rocking a low cut ceaser. I will be uploading photos to my fotki very soon.
Thanks in advance everyone good luck!
BamaBelle said:...Well, today I decided to touch-up with Mizani instead of Affirm (thinking that maybe the Affirm was helping to dry out my hair). Worse move I've made yet. I only left the relaxer on 7 minutes from start of application to rinse and my hair is now nearly bone straight. I was aiming for a more relaxed texturizing but I got the other end of the spectrum. I'm sad and confused. I'm not sure if I am going to just do Dominican blowouts and just work it that way or if I'm going to get some braids or twists and keep them long enough to have enough NG to BC again. I'm really pissed.

hopeful said:Tishee, your hair looks good. I don't realy use protein on my hair much, I love the ORS replenishing pak which I believe is a very mild protein, and even that can be too much sometimes, I use it for my deep con every week, sometimes every two weeks. If I leave it on longer than the recommended time it will dry my hair out and make the shrinkage really intense. For the most part my hair just seems to love moisture, braids, twist and being left alone.
Tene said:I would like to join if it isn't too late.
tishee said:thanks hopeful! I am going to pick up a packet of the ORS this weekend and try it Sunday. Do you mind me asking if you use heat with it? If so,for how long?
thanks in advance

hopeful said:Most of the time I don't use heat. I wash with con then dc with the ORS pak, sometimes I also add in some of my dove moisturizing con, I also add warm/hot water to my hair after applying the conditioner, seems to help it penetrate better, cover with a plastic cap for 45 minutes to an hour. I have used a heat cap before (over my plastic cap) I think for like 20 to 30 minutes and that works great too, I'm just too lazy most days to do that. I hope you like it, I think most people love the ORS pak. I am also a big fan of Oyin's Shine & Define serum, I use that for my twists, along with some oil and my hair feels like butter.![]()
\IvyHair said:I'd like to officially join this challenge!!! When I was still a lurker, I read this thread and actually got some of the courage to BC from this thread. Technically, I've been following along since 2/14 (day of the BC) but it's time to make this official. I can hopefully come through and post some photos showing where I started out and where I am today.
Keep on growing!!
Woww... that is a lot of hair! Personally, I don't think hair grows even, at least mine doesn't. So if you are cutting to keep it even, you may want to reconsider.Zeal said:If Would stop clpping my hair. I probably would have 6 inches by now.
I vow not to touch the scissors again this year.
I clipped my hair today. It is even now. I just want ot to grow evenly
