the best goal ever......patient1 I couldn't have said it better myself.:dance7:

Co-wash every other day with MNT

Spray with herbal infusion every evening, then apply MTG.

Apply StaSofFro Gel in the morning.

I really don't have a regiman down quite yet.

Hi All:

I'm still in braids and the hair is most definitely growing. I'm trying to stay on top of my water drinking and focus on the insides (physical and spiritual health).

My hair is long enough for me to do some short two strand twists but as much as I'm itching to remove these braids I'm gonna hold off. Being in braids definitely frees up quite a bit of my time.

How's everyone else doing?

p1

My regimen:
Week 1: Shampoo and Condition with Garnier Long n Strong Shampoo & Conditioner.
Week 2: Shampoo and Condition with MNT DC with Capilo Honey & Milk.
Week 3: Shampoo and Condition with Cantu Shea butter shampoo & conditioner DC with Capilo Honey and Milk.
Week4: Shampoo with Capilo Honey & Milk and Conditioner DC with Honey & Milk Conditioner.
Week 5-6: Shampoo and Condition along with Elasta EQ breakage control serum.

I apply MTG everynight...I'm addicted...I also put my hair into a ponytail everynight and apply Elasta EQ mango butter and surge on the ends then put a baggie on my ends and go to sleep...works wonders because my problem was split ends and shedding....not anymore.....the next morning my ends are so moisterized. I put my hair up into a bun or apply a clip in extension...then keep it moving....off to work......

Hi yall..i am still in a weave that i did myself..i wash it 1 every 2 weeks..apply better braids spray every other day on the actual braids and wefts..and WGO 1x a week..besides that...drinking my water daily...i wont be taking my weave until late feb early march...maybe...i will update with pics then..
keep up the good work ladies!

Hey tishee, I would like to join the twa grow out challenge, even though it's 20 days after 1/1/06!

My hair is 4+/- inches in length.

My current routine (which tends to change week to week):
1. Every morning, rinse my hair with water OR conditioner-wash with Suave Humectant
2. Pat dry hair gently with towel
3. Apply S Curl No Drip Formula OR a small amount of Citre Shine Making Waves Curl Booster throughout hair
4. Tie satin band around my edges or sport a chunky/coily TWA
5. At night, wear satin bonnet over my hair
6. Shampoo & Condition every 1-2 weeks with Garnier Fructis Long N Strong Shampoo & Conditioner (I also switch up with Luster's Pink Conditioning Shampoo and LeKair Cholesterol Plus)

Poohbear of course you can join!:)

Ladies so far so good! I haven't deep conditioned in a while but I plan on doing it this Sun. I started doing the CW every other day/every three days instead of every day.

Uh How are ou dealing with the smell?

I've got a TWA now so I would love to join :antlers: ! My current length is about 2-3 inches all around. I don't have a regimen and I'm currently in braids. However, come Spring when the weather warms up I'll begin to rock my TWA.

As for now I condition wash once a week (with cornrows), moisturize every other day, and take a multi-vitamin when I remember to ;).

I'm not setting a specific hair goal, however, I would love to rock a huge fro!

Hey y'all!

I flew TWA (remember that airline?) in late August 2005. My last "straight" relaxer was done in late June, early July and I rocked braids/twists the entire summer. I recently had my au naturale hair slightly relaxed (like a texturizer) with Affirm (combed through quickly... 8-10 minutes tops) just to loosen the coils.

My daily routine includes:
AM: Wet hair with Surge Plus 14, apply Elasta QP Mango Butter and Surge Woojee Cream for moisture, seal ends with Wild Growth Oil... No combing - style with my hands.
Alternating PM: Shampoo with Elasta QP Conditioning Creme Shampoo, condition with "something" (Mizani Moisturefuse, Nexxus Therappe, Silicon Mix, Avanti 3-11... Whatever I can grab), Apply another dose of Surge Plus 14, Mango Butter, Woojee Creme, WGO, wrap with scarf.
COWash PMs: do the above PM routine, leaving out the shampoo.

I am also on a serious vitamin regimen... MSM, Biotin, Silica, Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E, Acidophilus, Miracle 2000... I'm sure I'm missing some.

One thing I have learned from y'all that I slept for my entire grown-up life: Clarifying Shampoo! What a difference that makes! And doing a serious protein treatment every few weeks has also made a difference.

So, my next challenge is 5 inches stretched by my birthday (May 6)... and no relaxer touch-up until late March, early April.

Hey Tishee!

I am taking the GNC brand for the Evening Primrose Oil, Biotin 2500, MSM 1000, Pantothenic Acid 25, Silica, and Flaxseed Oil. I am taking Kirkland (Costco) brand Vitamin E and Natrol (from a health food store) brand Acidophilus.

I do hope this is helpful...

BTW, I got my 2" TWA done in two-strand/kinky twists. I've been looking through the threads for details on the Crown and Glory method... Any guidance? Many thanks in advance!;)

thanks BamaBelle! My hair hasn't grown that much since the start of the challenge :( but hopefully I will be able to get two strand twist once summer hits. RE:the crown and glory method have you checked the challenge thread? A couple of ladies here are doing the c&g challenge and have started a thread.

I'm at about 4 1/2 inches that's a twa. Self braided w/small box braids synthetic hair. I plan on using MTG, I just have to find the right essential oil to block the smell. HHG

Andrew lessman hair skin & nail vitamins
sulfur8 braid spray
minimize my product use to avoid build up.

my goal is longer healthy hair.

I did find the thread re: the C&G Method... It was so helpful (especially Den1's post and pictures... a step by step?! Whew.)

Anyway, using Den1's stocking cap shampoo method, I washed my twists tonight for the first time since getting them done last Monday. (Ah... the joy of the water hitting my scalp!) but I used a "control top" panty hose... Let me just say, for the record, don't use control pany hose: the material is too thick to get the diluted shampoo and conditioner through to coat the hair. I had to take the dang thing off and just apply the diluted shampoo directly to my hair and scalp (from an old WGO bottle)and then slather my new friend in: Queen Helene Cholesterol Conditioner... $2.99? What?! (said the way Dave Chappelle imitated Lil Jon) (couldn't find LeKair:( ). At any rate, I think my first wash went pretty well. Except...

I now notice that a few of the twists in the back are really beginning to slip down... I will probably be getting them redone before my two-week goal. Dadgumit!

But, all is well. :p

I'm reporting a lil progress. My bald spots are filling in and my hair in the back of my head is now growing out. It's because I started the stinky challenge mix and my new fave scalp massage product- Dr miracles temple and nape balm. I'm hoping for some nice growth so I can start doing some twists in my hair or finger coils.:D

Good morning ladies it's check-in time :bouncy:
Current regimen:
-poo every 5 days w/Asha's rosemary & sage or Eluence moisture balance poo(pre-poo w/Asha's caliente or amla oil)
-cw every 3 days w/ Eluence moisture balance co or Herbal essences co(pink or red bottle)
-deep co 1-2 times a week w/Keracare humecto in tub; once a month w/Asha's honey dew moisture balance treatment
-apply mtg every day for 3 days apply scurl
-clarify once a month w/Asha's revive

Hey y'all!

Okay, so I got rid of the two-strand/kinky twists about a month ago (March 8) and self-textlaxed this past Monday with Affirm Sensitive Scalp (I found a BS that still has a few single application jars on their shelf!). I am relatively happy with the results (I actually think I'd like to have the curl pattern a bit looser... Oh well...) I think my hair grew about an inch during that 4 week period.

I was religious with the weekly washings, deep conditioning and daily moisturing with Surge Plus 14 (I've since fallen in love with S-Curl Moisturizer... isn't that funny?) and WGO. Now my chore is to find a good conditioner with "slip." I attempted to apply a Henna... I didn't get anything that remotely is like color on my hair but the kit came with this fabulous conditioner that I immediately ran to the BS to get a larger bottle of (PJ!!!!!). The brand is Surya. Is anyone familiar with these products?

BTW: I think I'd like to experiment - again - with some color. Have any of y'all done a color job successfully? What brand of product did you use? I'd like to stay with a product sans peroxide/ammonia/alcohol... Maybe a "demi-permenent" color. What do y'all think?

Many thanks in advance!:D

Hi All:

I took my kinky twists out a few days ago to check on the overall health of my scalp and hair. All is well. I put my own hair into small braids again with a bit of the ends loose. After I plait, I conditioner wash, rinse about 75%out, and then apply kinky-curly custard to weigh the braids down.

I got a lot of questions about who my stylist was so they must have come out pretty good. I'm gonna keep my hair like this for a week (or 2) doing conditioner rinses (no agitation) daily. At the end I plan to trim about a 1/2 inch to get rid of the colored ends. They're not in great shape.

Hi tishee!

I have growth an inch since January. My hair is currently 5" in length. I had a 1/4 - 1/2 inch trim a few days ago. Now I'm ready to grow out some more hair especially since the weather will be warming up.

My regimen changed a whole lot during Jan, Feb, and Mar. For Apr, I want to start being more consistent. So I will soon start washing my hair daily with Creme of Nature Shampoo or with Suave Humectant. I will apply a small amount of S Curl or Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme to my hair when it's 50% dry. Then style my hair into a shrunken puff with a scarfband.

Once I run out of these products, I plan on trying a Jason Naturals poo and con and using Giovanni as a leave-in. I was inspired by BlackCardinal to try these, especially since I find that our hair textures are similar.

So that's my plan! I hope to try and exceed my normal growth rate of 1 inch every 2 months. Wish me the best!

Btw, how long does your hair have to be in order to no longer be considered a twa?
