i'm aware of most of the things that you said (i.e. "wigga" syndrome). a couple i've written about in my previous posts.i also noted that some people are in interracial relationships for the wrong reasons when i referred to women (whether natural or not) who exclusively date white- i think they do have image issues and i've been saying that in my posts so we agree on the same thing.

about your examples:
i feel like the first one fed into what i was saying. strom thurman was racist against blacks yet had a black mistress- that's sort of similar to the example of a natural who exclusively dates white and thinks whites are better- the actions don't match the ideology and that is unexpected. it shouldn't be unexpected for a natural to be with a white man (i think this is where we deviate) because being natural doesn't mean you only like black men. that's why i can't see the irony

to your 2nd example-halle doesn't get trashed because this is the first white man she has ever been with whereas reggie bush has never dated a black women EVER (even when he was younger). but anyway,many factors affect who you date and not all of them are psychological. sometimes it's just your life circumstances.

Wearing your hair in its natrual state should NOT mean your afrocentric, you only love black men, your vegan etc. Its simply wearing your hair how it grows, unrelaxed. period.

You're a mess the brothas here in NY have no issues with my kinks whatsoever....as a matter of fact they appreciate it and point out how it makes me distinct so this phenomena is definitely regional. I was recently walking through the hood on my way to visit my grams with my BAA out in its full glory and a Bakery owner (a brotha) left his shop came out and stopped me to say that he loves to see a natural sista wearing her hair with pride and asked me to please take a piece of any cake of my choice on the house I left with Red Velvet and i get just as much male "appreciation" so I've had very positive reactions to my coils from brothas, white men and everything inbetween.....so hush with them generalizations!

Oh and if they want to run their hands through it thats only a blowout and a flatiron away

As ignorant as she was on YT, I can understand what she is talking about. I've seen some people with natural hair act holier than thou on the internet. In real life, not so much. Maybe some people around her are making her feel like she's not "black enough" but honestly not every woman with natural hair is the same. Just like not every woman with a weave, relaxed hair, braids, etc is the same.

I wouldn't say I was "enlightened" when I became natural. I will say that going through the transitioning phase I was able to think about WHY I relaxed in the first place, which was out of habit and because that's just what you do. I can't say that all of a sudden I'm wicked smart LOL Last I checked, I was college edumacated before transitioning to natural.

Maybe on the internet it looks like we're "taking over" and got the upper hand. Truth is there are so many women of color that are afraid of their nappy hair and probably have no idea what their chemical-free hair looks like.

I'm with you... I understand her as well...I think that she was just venting random thoughts so it was not delivered in a proper manner. I agree, it should not matter how we choose to wear our hair, we need to uplift each other as women as a whole. Build up strong sistas! lol...but she is funny!! lol...
