Things you HATE about longer hair

Zanna,

I hate to hear people talk like that too about my hair. I would do the same as you and just not wear my ponytail out any more around the people that said it (keeps everything cool that way).

Boy Zanna you're good. I'd be like "cut my hair and I'll cut you" I don't even wanna hear that talk in jest.

. Cutting my hair? Anyone who steps to me with a maliced heart, carrying a "sharp" object is intending bodily harm. Shooot, I'd see it as an "assault" to inflict bodily harm. Damn skippy i'd retaliate (sp?) like a mad crazy woman.

To Allandra,

I went to the mall to buy me a couple of outfits. While the cashier was ringing up my purchase another cashier came over and just stared at my hair (or something on me).

[/ QUOTE ]

The female cashier should find the first car of the nearest train and hop on it if she wants to find tracks.

I don't understand why some women especially women of color have this disgusting habit. This "black-women-can't-grow-hair-past-their-ears" mind frameset (aka nonsense) ought to stop

btw I hope you enjoyed your birthday. I was not online on that day, but that is no excuse, so I deserve to have five

and go sit in a corner because you first acknowledged my birthday on May 25.

If my hair was as long as your's Zanna and people made comments like that I would flaunt it in their face as much as possible! I wouldn't care what they say or think and I'd dare them to touch it with some scissors, they would surely lose their fingers!

-Shedding
-Getting caught in everything
-Hair on my neck, on a hot day! The good thing about this is, I put my hair in a high ponytail and there is less handling.
-Hair in my face, mouth, or food
-Takes two days to air dry
-Everything that London Diva said

But, I wouldn't change it for the world, I love my hair!

I don't hate having long hair. It's a blessing really. How does the saying go - "anything worth having is worth working for". It just takes more effort to maintain, that's all. Keep on growing...

Hey all,

Sorry for the deleted post. I try to edit my post instead I see a double post. Computers sometimes does strange things. If you see any of my post that looks strange let me know.

harmony,

I really don't like conflics LD, Peachtree and Stormy, I usually wear a bun, and rarely a ponnytail and especially at work, so now at work they won't see the ponnytail anymore, and nobody is upset, and everybody is smilling

Like Allandra said :"(keeps everything cool that way)."
Sincerely
Zanna

- drying time

- rollersetting

- detangling
- shedding hairs
- how my hair puffs up when its close to relaxer time
- how it gets caught in everything

Zanna is it REALLY that serious??? Because when you said that I figured they were hating some, or maybe even playing, but not seriously that bad. Dang! That's a shame that people can be so cruel and jealous. When I see a woman with beautiful hair it's encouraging, not intimidating.

No they were joking around! but i rather put my hair up then saying something in responce to their joke that might upset them. I don't want to upset anyone, and I am also scared to death about sissors and sissors' jokes when my hair is involved. That's the other reason why I chose to wear my hair up!

definitley when it gets stuck in my lip gloss, drying time, when people ask me if its real. and i dye my hair and a lot of girls make snotty remarks like "your hair is gonna fall out" im sorry but no my hair is very healthy!

I hate the shedding with a passion- I keep thinking to myself- what am I doing wrong?

And when it is retouch time my hair is so tangled that it is a pain in the butt.

Also my son loves to yank my hair whenever I wear it down.

What I hate is that, as my hair gets longer, it is getting harder for me to style at home, in terms of flat ironing, curling and rolling. It also continues to get caught in everything.

Having it get caught when I put the bag straps on my shoulders then getting dirty looks (which I ignore) when I fling my hair out of the way...

But really, to address what Allandra and Zanna said, women need to stop being concerned about other people's hair and instead worry about advancing themselves in any way possible... Other races do not have this problem... Why can't they wear their hair down? Ladies, please do. Do not let others dictate how you carry yourselves. Right now, I wear my hair however I want it. When I get it down to my waist, I will do the same. Why? because it is my hair.

Had to get that off my chest

so sorry for the venting. Happy Sunday y'all.

-I'm with ya'll getting hair caught is the worst...

And my all time biggest problem with longer hair - the GRIPPING fear, that one day, somehow, despite your best efforts YOU, SOMETHING YOU DO, OR SOMEONE ELSE DOES WILL JACK IT UP AND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO START ALL OVER.

The thoughts haunt me. I dream about terrible relaxers gone awry and that one bad color job that I took too far or the braiding plan that does me in....

I get chills even thinking about it!

Adrienne, remember we talked about being paranoid about someone cutting off our hair when it's down in public?

I totally agree, I could definitely do WITHOUT the tangles. That is why the wind and I are NOT friends ...it always tangles my hair.

I also hate the fact that my conditioner does not last as long b/c I use more, and we all know that our beloved products are not cheap.

I must admit, sometimes I dislike it when a total stranger stares at my hair (they only do this when my hair is down). This morning, I went to the mall to buy me a couple of outfits. While the cashier was ringing up my purchase another cashier came over and just stared at my hair (or something on me). I must say, it felt kind of creepy. At that point, I was ready to take a clip and pull it up, but I just said thanks to the cashier that rang up my goodies, politely smiled and left the store.
