This thread is for all who have long hair!!
**DISCLAIMERS**
-If it's long to you, it's long!
-No discrimination against hair texture or current state (relaxed, heat trained, natural, etc)
I've been reflecting on this for the last few months. Now that my hair is slowly approaching waist length, I'm noticing that I can't really get away with certain things like I used to when my hair was much shorter. It was no big deal at all for me to walk out of the house with damp hair when my hair was basically a curly fro. I'd put a headband on and it wouldn't even touch my shoulders. Now my hair curls around the tops of my shoulders and a bit past in the back, and wash and gos are slowly turning into more of an ordeal.
I'm having to change the way I do things: wash and go at night or get up early to give my hair a head start on drying time; I've started detangling in sections b/c with the extra length seems to come extra thickness; I find that I don't like to mess with my hair as much, so I'm more motivated to try and get multiple day hair, and so on. Having shoulder length unstretched kinks and curls has really changed up a lot of what I do.
Wet buns are heavy and it seems I can't handle all of the extra weight (headache prone).
Of course with longer hair, there are a lot of perks. It's just that there is also a lot of adjustment.
What are some things that you used to be able to do with short hair that you can't do now with longer hair? What are some adjustments that you have had to make when caring for your hair?
