THE DH's and THE SO's! What do they really think?

My DH has been amusingly supportive about the whole thing. He just shakes his head about most of the stuff (MN, washing my hair with baking soda). But he's got football - I've got hair!

That's exactly what I told mine! That and the fact that he never complains-except for the money part sometimes. After one of his biker buddies complimented me on the scent of my hair the other day he was like "Her hair always be smelling good. She be ordering custom hand made ish." Trying to make it sound deeper than it really is . Oh, and he uses my conditioner in his hair, beard and goatee ...says it makes it grow faster.

now that's funny! luckily mind is bald - but i told him that if he wants to grow his hair back, I can definitely hook him up!

DH loves ya'll! He thinks its great that women from all over the world have a place to go to talk about hair and other issues of life. He said that its theraputic for us, this is why we are on here all the time. He also says that because women like to talk, this is the perfect place and if husbands understood this, they would be happier at home because a happy wife, makes a happy husband

When we see women with hair issues, he always wants me to go over to them and talk to them about what they could use, etc. Ya'll should see me

He also uses MT and OCT and its working. Ya'll need to hip yo man on this stuff, if he's losing his hair...I'm serious!

My SO doesn't care to much. At first he though I was on a porn site looking at women . He thought that was cute. He doesn't say to much anymore but on relax day he's like and can't keep his hand out of my hair.

He measures my hair for me, deep conditions my hair, braids it, lol

He has his own stash of oils, and DEMANDS his own tub of deep conditioner which he uses on his 1a hairerplexed Yes, Deep Conditioner on 1A 1 inch long hair.

My SO takes my advice sometimes. I've gotten to give up pink oil moisturizer, stop using 2n1 shampoo/condish and on occasion even cowash. I never think he pays attention until I ask why he does something or switched to a product and he always comes back with "well my baby said that...."

I definitely co-sign this. When I BC'd, I gave my OCT to my boyfriend b/c I wanted to enjoy the slow but sure growth of my TWA...no growth aids for me. Let me tell you his thinning hair has done a complete 180!!! Its thickening and he walks around smelling like coconuts all the time.

My DH knows I'm obsessed with hair sites, thinks it's crazy that I use Mega Tek, a product for horses! He commented that my hoofs and coat looked really shiney the other day! He thinks he's so funny!

My partner has been supportive from the beginning. When I BCed, he helped me cut the back. Just last week I was talking about flat ironing my hair and he was like, "no don't do it, won't that cause damage?" I was like, "Not if i do it right," and he was like, "Well just be careful, i know how hard you've worked on your hair."

It was sort of sweet and endearing that he gets it.

This thread is so funny. My DH always has something slick to say. He can't stand my PJism. His favorite thing to say when he is looking for me in the house is "I bet you are on LHCF." He knows the acronym and all. Overall, he just likes to tease me. When my hair is BSL he wont have a word to say

DH HATESSSSSSSS Weave so he is all in favour of this. Plus, i never go to the salon and in London a relaxer is sometimes £80 so its all good, he's happy I do it all myself and cusses weaves at every chance he gets! Naughty boy!

My DH thinks we are all vain scientists. He said that all we want to do is show our new bra and underwear straps in pictures. He said 'Y'all need to crop that. No one wants to see your drawls.'

I was talking about pre-pooing and protein. He said 'You need a laxative if you need to pre-poo.' I just looked at him.

I said 'Ooh my hair feels good with all these cones in it.' He said 'Combs?' I said 'Co-Nuz-uh!' He just stared at me. Then said 'What are cones?!!! You can't just say something and not explain it to me.' I had to explain dimethicone and all the other stuff. Then I had him feeling my hair. He was like 'Uhh okay.'

All in all, he understands my goal and is always there to compliment me on my hair or length. I'm considering transitioning and he supports me 100%.

My partner hates this place. He hears so much about shampoos, conditioners, henna, ayurveda powders, oils, butters, rinses, combs, brushes, buns, braid outs, trims I think he's going to kill himself if I tell him anymore.
What's worse, sometimes he'll sit behind me and ask "What's that?" and when I explain it, he'll invariably say "THAT'S DUMB." He's just jealous he has to compete for attention sometimes.

I remember when I ordered the MT he was like "how much" so I told him, he said "those women just want ur money"! I don't live with my SO, so it's a little bit easier for me to hide my hair obsession. He knows that I'm trying to grow longer hair and that I spend time on here, but he doesn't know that I'm on here multiple times a day. He's really supportive though. The other day he was like, "You stopped by my apartment during lunch, didn't you?" I was like, "Yes, how did you know?" He said, "Because I saw a strand of your hair in front of my mirror in the bathroom. It was soooooooo long. I was almost as long as the counter." He knew that would make my day.

Yeah, at the time I'm SO-less as well, but I'm LOVING these stories. Adorable. I'm a newbie, and I've often wondered how when I do start dating a new guy, I'll let him in on my growing hair obsession, SLOWLY I guess...don't wanna scare a new guy off!

My partner is annoying me...but its funny. He is using all my products! He uses my CON and my ORS and then he uses my coconut oil or my olive oil or whatever and its kinda cute but he has less than 1cm of hair!
Anyway...I first started off on 'growafrohairlong.com' all the time with all my braiding and he saw how my hair grew and how much more healthy it was looking.
He is really supportive and is happy that i dont put weaves and phony ponies on anymore...he can tolerate the braids though we both cant wait til bsl!
